A year ago, I was happier than I might have ever been. I was surrounded by friends and immersed in a secret. I was an active part of a crackerjack team to help a talent along as he began to bloom before thousands of people. Yes, there were problems, and yes, I could have handled those problems much more proactively than I did. Had I done so, I may still be a part of that group...and that group may be be drastically different than what it is now. If that experience did only one thing for me, it verified my believe that people will screw you every chance they get and that it's best to just work alone. I'm never going to find myself in a situation like that again. It's difficult to care about the cause and realise others are only out for money and their own glorification. Never again.

The end of The Joker Blogs went live today. The entire series was amazing, and how Scott and Andrew wrapped it made for a perfectly satisfying ending. I was thanked in the end credits, which is something I didn't expect and not something I even required. I'm just glad I was of some help during my time with them.

I'm committing to proofread at least 10 pages a day until I have The Augury of Gideon ready for [livejournal.com profile] gunslingaaahhh to edit. She'll be working on The Blood Crown after she finishes with [livejournal.com profile] booraven22's project, so it's not like she's in a rush to get Augury. Since it's the third book in the series, we have plenty of time to work on it.
tinhuviel: (Can't Stop Writing)
Not really. It's just the title of the song I was listening to when began this post. It's one of my favourite newer Sarah McLachlan songs. I dug her "back in the day" when she was just getting her footing and was doodling her own album covers. Everybody's gotta start somewhere. I'm going to be proofreading today, hoping to get a large dent in The Augury of Gideon. Another thing that I must do by the weekend is my song-by-song review of the new Shriekback album. I'm just waiting on one song for which I have lyrics, but no tuneage. Once Barry or Stuart send me that, we'll be in business.

I have one final job to do for The Joker Blogs. When the final episode airs, I'm going to update the Facebook quiz to reflect all the episodes. Scottles released the second-to-last episode over the weekend, so I'm hoping I can close that door behind me this coming weekend. If he waits another three months, I'm going to glare menacingly either out west or in the direction of the Midwest, wherever he may be at the time. One way or another, he'll get a good glaring from me. It'll be my last, but it'll be worth it.

Okay, this is mindblowing. The man I want to play Cadmus, Tom Hardy, played a young Captain Picard in Star Trek: Nemesis. The young man I want to play Kallum, James McAvoy, is playing young Charles Xavier. The mind, she boggles. Neither of them really look like Patrick Stewart at all and both are quite handsome. I just don't know what to say about that. Again, the mind, she doth boggle.

Aunt Tudi found what looked like a teentsy scorpion on our bathroom floor. That fairly alarms me. I can get close enough to scorpions to kill them DEAD, but I'd prefer they not be in the house at all. Centipedes and millipedes are on a whole other level. If I ever see a grown one in the house, I'm leaving with the clothes on my back never to return. I'll just disappear, running and screaming into the night, even if the sun is shining. It'll be my dark night of the soul. Scorpions are one thing. Big grey worms with curtains for legs? You can have the house. I bequeath it to thee, foul beast from the depths of Hell.

Just as an aside, good proofreading music is the soundtracks from Children of Dune, Avatar, and Massive Attack's Mezzanine.

It's strange to see after all this time. Everybody's openly talkin' about this guy. Had to make note of it. It's like watching a young bird launch from the nest. ::nods with approval::

The Joker Blogs are out with a new episode. This one is entitled The Road Trip, and what a road trip it is! Cross-dressing, littering, sing-a-longs...when you're with the Joker, it's a "party all the time, party all the time!"

tinhuviel: (Default)
As I write of the beginning of Cadmus and Orphaeus' journey by foot from Jerusalem to Rome, I'm beset by questions like what manner of mischief will they find themselves in. What kind of people will fall victim to the chalice so that Orphaeus can give over the memories Cadmus needs to retrieve the Blood Crown? How will they come to trust one another enough to work in tandem when the time comes for them to make their way to the Apostate? What kind of wisdom will be imparted to each of them and to me as I write this? Will it be revealed to Orphaeus that Cadmus killed Persephone and, if so, will that revelation be made in this book or The Augury of Gideon? I've got more questions than answers right now, but I have confidence my "dynamic duo" will answer them when they're ready, especially Cadmus. He never seems to shut up, sitting there in my head, whispering sweet nothings in my ear. No wonder I walk around with a half-terrified look on my face all the time.

The Joker Blogs will be coming to a conclusion soon. Only a few more episodes to go before the finale and the Big Reveal, when Little Bro finally takes off the war paint for people to see who he is. I'll be sad to see the Blogs end because I have enjoyed them immensely, but I am looking forward to the Big Reveal and all the good things to follow for Dude. I'm unsure I'll be a part of that and, if I'm not, that's okay. I've done what I can do and that's all anyone can ever do, so I have no regrets there. I just hope I've been able to help and that the gathering of what is essentially his first fan club will assist him in bringing more unique and brilliant entertainment to people.
tinhuviel: (Cadmus Dark Eyes)
I've won!

50,059 words!

I ended with Cadmus pondering his altar and the fact that he...just shed some tears! I know, what the hell, right? I thought the same thing yesterday when I wrote it. That's pretty much why I stopped writing, because I was angry with the story at it heading in that direction so soon. But, the story knows better than I. As the Cylons would say, "All this has happened before, and all of it will happen again."

Honestly though, I can't believe I've finished early, especially after being so sick for so long. I attribute part of it to my sharpening my speed skills with those Date stories. I was pumping out two and three thousand words a day at times with those, so 1667 words was really not an issue for me. I was ridiculously ahead when I fell ill and used my reserve to fortify my word count, so I was never really behind like I thought I was.

I'm about 20,000 words away from actually finishing The Blood Crown. I'm going to continue writing on it today but, tomorrow, I have a review to write for Lighterthief's EP, Hard Listening. The release is on 1 December, and I promised Stuart Rowe I'd have the review for him to spread around at the time of the release. And, no, I haven't been procrastinating on this. I just got the press kit today, so I'm jumping on this to help the Lighterthief crew out...and Barry Andrews, of course. ::big wicked grin:: I've already forwarded the press kit to the contacts I still have in the music business, asking them to spread it around like warm butter.

After the reviews, I've promised [livejournal.com profile] acook I would write a collaborative J-fic with [livejournal.com profile] gunslingaaahhh that involves Femme Joker (you'll just have to wait and see what that's all about) and Batman. We'll be working on that in December. Once that's done, my J-fic writing days will come to a conclusion. I think that's rather fitting, since I saw the movie last December and began writing fics in January. I'll just end it all on my kind of one year anniversary. The Joker Blogs are also coming to an end soon, so it all works out nicely in the Great Scheme of Things.

Then it will be back to The Blood Crown with a vengeance. I want to finish as soon as I can so I can go directly into The Augury of Gideon. I'm in a serious mood to write my Vampires, particularly Cadmus Pariah and the mortated (that's a word in my book ~ mortation - the transformation of a Vampire back into mortal form) Faust, now going by his mortal name Kallum. Writing "The Sainted Confessor" almost killed me, but it also kind of redeemed me writing-wise, and it gave me the key to writing The Augury of Gideon, so I'm excited. Very excited indeed and absolutely, all billshat aside.

I don't know what 2010 will bring, except a new Shriekback album I wholly intend to help promote to the full extent of my resources and abilities, but I do know I'll be writing my way through it all, and still looking for that elusive publisher. There's so much more for Cadmus to do...to so many people. I'll close with this, because I can - ha ha ha!

Cadmus had broken the Circle long before. He’d stood shortly after Kelat’s speech and walked away from the other Vampires. Let them remain in solemnity, wallowing in fairy tales and dead religions. He was outcast. He would embrace his station and leave them to it. He stood at a secret window in the sanctuary, staring up into the infinity of the stars that watched over this lush garden of a planet, a bounty to both human and Vampire, and especially to Cadmus Pariah. The whites of his eyes shimmered in the pale light, but the iris and pupil absorbed even the faintest of beams. He’d spent centuries listening to people praise the ethereal beauty of his eyes, how alien and magnetic they were. Many of these same people had had their souls ripped from them by way of those magnificent, measureless eyes. He felt every one of them now, and heard them too, whispering still in desperation for release.

I'm in the process of wrapping up yet another Date story, this one being called "The Artist's Date." And, yes, it's a kind of creative payment for art done for me. I think that's how all creative people should gift one another, with the products of their creative effort. I was gifted with some art inspired by "The Sainted Confessor." As a result, I'm writing "The Artist's Date" in return. I'd like to see it paid forward to see how it manifests from one creator to another. It's that creative spark that inspired the first cave paintings and has been running along the longest dynamite fuse of all time. Once the spark hits that dynamite, who knows what will happen? Oh, that's right...2012!

As soon as I finish "The Artist's Date," I need to complete my outline of The Blood Crown for NaNoWriMo. "The Sainted Confessor" was always going to be the largest chapter in the book and, since I had to go ahead and write it thanks to anchoring Faust to the worst person on Earth, it totally messes with my word count for NaNo. It reached novella status, it got so huge (38,605 words!), and I actually had to break it down into mini-chapters. They are entitled: "The Timeless Vagabond," "Session One," "Session Two," "Session Three," "Session Four," and "The Incorruptible Dove." If I reach my 50k for NaNo, the novel will be right at 89,000 words. The Chalice is 88,650 words. That said, I'm thinking that The Vampire Relics will be one great big book with three pretty decent-sized parts. I'll leave a decision like that, though, to my editor. ;)

I know I haven't been the most communicative person of late, thanks to my involvement with The Joker Blogs. Since I'm participating in NaNoWriMo, it's not going to be much better, but I do plan on writing about my progress here. Hopefully, I can keep up with my f-list on a certain level too. I hope so. I miss everyone here.

Speaking of The Joker Blogs, I'll be busy tomorrow getting ready for a double release of Bloggy Goodness Saturday morning. At least that's the plan, not that any of us officially plan anything, in the tradition of The Joker in TDK. We all just "do things." But I will say that I'm slowly preparing for the viral onslaught come Saturday. And I'm pleased that the Halloween task instructions seem pretty clear. No one has really asked "what the hell does this mean?" So I guess I did my job there okay. I love writing out task instructions and Blog synopses, among other things, for Dude. I can't say I've enjoyed doing something this much in a very long time. I'll be sad to see it end.

As for doing things for The Joker Blogs and participating in NaNoWriMo, I don't know where my head is, but I'm going to attempt to do both. The only reason I'm doing NaNo is to finish The Blood Crown. If I don't make my 50k because I'm busy with The Joker Blogs, then so be it. I made a promise months ago and I intend to stand by that promise no matter what. Either way, I'll be winning because I'll be that much closer, if not finished with, The Blood Crown. And then I can move on to The Augury of Gideon.

Aunt Tudi and I have errands to run early tomorrow morning. I'll be purchasing more energy shots while I'm out...just in case. If they aren't needed, then at least I'll have them for NaNoWriMo and don't think I won't use them. I'm a maniac.

So here's the Halloween Task for The Joker Blogs. You'll have to click the link to see the special announcement about the new TJB episode and Halloween Special!

Happy Halloween Minions!

Mister J has a Special Holiday Task for you maniacs to perform on Saturday night. What you’ll need for this Task are:

One (or more if you feel like it) Wanted Poster

  • Your index cards

  • Your RED, GREEN, and BLACK Sharpies

  • First off, the index cards will need to be made.

On the index cards, the following information needs to be clearly written:

This information can be written out in any colour combination you please. You need to include at least one Joker smiley face. You may also Jokerize your index cards, but it’s not necessary (even though Mister J would be amused if you did). Here’s an example:

There's been a long-running joke on the forums about being addicted to The Joker Blogs. Well, someone over there took this and decided to collect videos of people saying "You Know You're Addicted to The Joker Blogs when..." and give their example. She's going to compile them all and make one big honkin' video which she shall post on You Tube (if it's under 10 minutes ~ Fascist baaaastards) for all to enjoy...or not.

The deadline for getting videos in was Midnight on the cusp of the 25th and 26th. I'd been watching this off and on as I did my modly thing each day, but was surprised this evening while I was in chat with [livejournal.com profile] gunslingaaahhh and [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker, when [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker informed me that she and I had been tapped to do videos as well. Wha? So I went to the forum thread and, sure enough, because of our supposed status over on TJB.com, the lady doing this and a couple of others (I think...lots of quote were being thrown about and I'm hella tired) were pressuring [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker and I to contribute. So we did. I'm posting both here, as well as [livejournal.com profile] gunslingaaahhh's because I want to. Ha ha ha.

First, [livejournal.com profile] gunslingaaahhh. She's so hilarious!

Second, [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker. Hers is absolutely golden.

Third, mine. Which is just sad compared to the brilliance above. But at least I had something to offer and made it in 15 minutes before the deadline. Hey, Procrastination is my other middle name!

Aren't the three of us just the cat's pajamas? The stag's antlers? The llama's eye lashes? Big Bird's ass feathers? Toby's wimple of Doubt? The Wookiee's roar? The beaver's teeth? Indy's snake pit? The fish head's lips? Hannibal's culinary skills? The Sith's cackle? I could go on and on with this, but I won't. Have fun making fun of us. We can take it. Just be mindful; we have Joker on our side. Ha.

Let's wind the clocks back...about... 7 videos back...

Starting with evidence video #1 this Saturday.

PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE.
PLEASE
tinhuviel: (Card Kill You)

Admit it, we all want to make The Man go "WTF?" This is your chance. The Joker Blogs started out as a tiny fan-fueled film project by a guy who hadn't even yet begun his launch in Hollywood. Thanks to some viral schemes here and there, he's become a bit of phenomenon and You Tube has only recently begun to notice. Just this past Saturday we enjoyed our smoothest launch of a Blog yet, having everything everywhere go up simultaneously. I won't say how that happened 'cos all that matters is that it happened and, the Mighties Willing, it'll happen from now on. As a result, he's already gotten over 17,000 views in only three days. I want that to be 40,000+ by Saturday at 4 EST. Will you help me live up to my name of tinhuviel pestis? Then here's what we need to do....

  • Get at least one person to watch the new Blog.

  • Email everyone appropriate in your email address book with a link to the Blog.

  • Announce it on your LJ, Facebook, Deviant Art, Twitter, MySpace, Blogspot, or whatever else you use!

  • Change your homepage addresses in signatures and profile info (wherever you have it) to the URL for the new Blog.

Here's the URL for your convenience: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7UjXrsk9_w

Any other ways you can think to spread the word, by all means do so and include your idea here. We want the Powers-that-Be at You Tube all slack-jawed with awe at what a mad talent and his Minions can do when we set out minds to it.

In case you're curious, this is what you'll be passing on.

Good luck to everyone and thanks in advance! Oh, and pass this post on to any and everyone! I'd so appreciate it!
tinhuviel: (Dark Doubt)
I find it frustrating that, for the first time in the history of the Cliffs of Insanity, I'm having to filter certain posts. This has always been a public blog and I hope that, eventually, it will become that way again for the most part. I've had to set some entries to private because I can't not write about what's going on in my life, yet I can't let people read what I'm writing about. It's distressing because I am, for the most part, a very open person. I don't like hiding. I don't appreciate insincerity, hypocrisy, or other such unpleasantness that can often be associated with the worst examples of humanity. Since I've never been a big fan of humanity in the first place, the worst examples hold a special place of perturbation in my eyes. What's even worse is when I let such individuals into my realms and find that, like a barnacle on a whale's arse, they're nigh to impossible to rid myself of them.

And that makes me angry at myself. Because I was fool enough to allow these people any access to my life to begin with, I'm now having to suffer their intolerability indefinitely. The situation is dire and untenable. And I have only myself to blame. I've suffered so much unwarranted abuse over the past few months and I've searched my life over the past few years to see if maybe Karma might be involved here. I have found nothing to merit such foulness. I'm still in the process of sorting out the situation. The more I'm forced to dwell on it, the more infuriated I become. If anger makes a better Sith, I'm the best Sith in the galaxy, this one or the other one that's far, far away. My rage has been sufficiently honed.

I am once again behind on my email. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day for me to do everything I need or want to do. One of my problems is focus. Fibro Fog has been a serious issue for me of late and this doesn't amuse me in the least. One thing that did seem to help that condition was my consumption of a couple of Arizona Rx Energy Fast Shots the other night. No, I didn't drink two at one sitting. I paced them out over the course of a few hours. I needed to be awake and alert that night, and I needed my faculties. I got everything I needed out of that, but I am not making a habit of drinking energy drinks. First of all, despite the herbal base of such concoctions (extreme caffeine notwithstanding), I don't think they're very good for you. They serve a purpose when one needs to remain on one's toes but, other than that, it's a poor substitute for overcoming Fibro Fog naturally. It's just something I have to deal with in my own way and without the risky effects of energy elixirs. That's not to say I won't get more Arizonas if the need arises, given similar situations like the other night. I'm just not going to Do Whacka Do on a regular basis.

Even though I have signed up to participate in NaNoWriMo, I have resigned myself to the fact that I will not win this year; however, that's not to say I won't succeed in my goal. There are two reasons I signed up for NaNo. The main reason was to challenge myself to finish The Blood Crown. Even though I doubt I'll reach my 50k goal required by NaNo to win, I'm pretty certain I'll come close to completing the second installment of The Vampire Relics. I've created a Facebook group for the Relics and will probably create an LJ comm for them as well. When I do this, I'll be deleting [livejournal.com profile] chalice_novel. [livejournal.com profile] gunslingaaahhh is going to be editing The Chalice, which will go up in installments in the new Vampire Relics community. She's currently editing "The Sainted Confessor," which is a huge chunk of The Blood Crown. That'll be the first thing to go up in the FB group, but it won't appear in the community over here until The Blood Crown is complete.

I won't win NaNo this year because The Joker Blogs is still going on and will continue past Samhain. I was under the impression the series would end at Halloween. This has been extended. I don't know when the series will end now. Who knows? The current series may end and then another may begin? That's total speculation on my part maybe just a wee tad of wishful thinking. Either way, when I committed to help Dude with my own odd brand of PR, I did so for the long haul or until he tells me to walk the plank. I can't turn away from my duties to TJB for the entire month of November. I don't feel right doing it. It's not who I am to make a commitment, then just wander off for a little while when I might be needed to do what I promised I would do. So I'll be balancing NaNo and TJB in November and that means writing 50k words in 30 days might not be the most realistic goal in the world.

Is it doable? It might be. I'm going to give it my all. I'll give my all to both projects. But some things, like email, may be neglected as a result. Best to leave me messages on my posts here or reach out to me on Facebook or Twitter. That's not to say I won't write you back if you send me an email. I'm just saying it may take a while. When you have no mind to wrap around all the things you're doing, life in general gets a little convoluted.

Speaking of email, I got an email notification of a comment posted to my You Tube channel. It says: Tinhuviel...WOW! I knew you from your Shriekback yahoogroup back about 10 years ago! Not sure if I was Lilly Tilly, Sierra Bloom or Heide (or was I meengreens) in those days, LOL

I read an awesome story of yours back then, something very Vampirish, with a man remindful of B. Great stuff... just found your name on a... what else? ... Shriekback video!

How freaky-cool is that? I remember HeideHo very well. We had some very cool astrological conversations, mainly about B's chart, which is oddly almost identical to mine, even though our birthdays are almost 11 years apart and we were born in extremely different locales. Guess that's one reason why we've always kind of grokked on both a spoken and unspoken level. I left a comment on Heide's YT channel and I've friended her. If I'm not mistaken, she's a Canadian. I love Canadians. It's good to reconnect to people with whom you've lost touch. I gathered quite a network of unique and talented souls when I went searching for fellow Shriekback fans in the hope of rallying a revival of the band. That goal was met and produced some wonderful friendships, inspired creations by fans, and surreal encounters (like my visit with B in 2006). There's nothing I love more than to be an active part of a group of souls coming together for a common purpose and, as a result, Making Things Happen. Yes, that's capitalised for a reason. It's that important. And it always thrills me when souls that may have drifted apart, find their way back to one another. Now, if only Me'Shel'le would emerge from her hidey-hole...

I'm about 1/3 of the way through another Date story, this one called "The Artist's Date," and is a sort of 'thank you basket' to [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker for the lovely art she's so far contributed to The Vampire Relics. It's your typical Joker Date Night tale with the 3 rules to be followed strictly: 1) A Heath Ledger Reference, 2) An original scar story, and 3) the Date dies. There were a few special requests for this particular date since it is, after all, [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker's date. She's a horror nut and is truly looking forward to being murdered by J. This is not to say I want her dead in any way, shape, or form, but her wish is my command and J's absolute pleasure. Not sure where this will fit in the chronology, but Sidney's alive, so it's definitely after "The Nun's Date," where he was introduced. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned that Sidney is based entirely upon Sidney Poitier, who starred in Lilies of the Field. That was my paternal grandmother, Granny's all-time favourite film and, since it has to do with nun's it just made sense to me to connect this movie with "The Nun's Date" and introduce a little grounding energy to Joker's madcap existence. And I'm probably going to hell for making such a connection. Yet another reason I should be preparing my handbasket now. I'm truly racking up the Hell points these days...trust me.

After I finish "The Artist's Date," I'm making a bit of a departure in J-fic Land and am going to try my hand at writing Joker as a woman. Why? Well, it's another "thank you basket," this time to [livejournal.com profile] acook, who did a fantastic reading of a portion of "The Sainted Confessor." Over time, she's been creating a costume tailored just for her and her version of Joker. No, she's not dressing as Joker or as a girl trying to be Joker. No no no, it's not that simple. No. [livejournal.com profile] acook has defined herself as Joker, had Joker been female all along. [livejournal.com profile] acook is Femme Joker. That said, I'm going to attempt a fic based on that concept. I have no idea what it's going to be like and it will mean introducing yet another J into my already crowded head, but I think it'll be worth it. To give an idea of what Femme Joker is all about, I present this snappy little video. Prepare to get your Romany on.

While we're talking J-fic, I want to scream from the hilltops that the third chapter of The Endgame is available for reading. I can't stress enough how you really should be reading this fiction. It only gets better with each subsequent chapter, so you're destined to be hooked and happy for it. Here's the link to the third chapter, entitled Epiphany. [livejournal.com profile] paisleydaze is truly a rare talent in writing and her ability to bring life to her characters, even those who aren't originally hers, is uncanny. When I read her Joker, I can hear him in my head. I love it when that happens and, therefore, I love Soph's story. You should read it, I'm telling you. It's not just good Joker fanfiction, it's good fiction period. And I need to finish my picture of Claire that I began ages ago. Like I said...not enough hours in the day for everything I want and need to do. But it'll happen, every...last...bit... Or heads will roll. And that'll be fun too.

I'm surrounded by talented people for the most part. Some who think they have me surrounded also think they're talented. They should think better of it. But that's another rant for another day. For now, I'm just gonna sit here and be grateful for talented friends who allow me to tag along.

I think that certainly should be enough from me. At least for now. I'm around these parts, just lurking, watching and observing. I'd never desert you guys...unless offered plenty of money. Hee! I'm gonna try to doze a little now. Then it's back up to write some more. It's 33 degrees here right now. Unprecedented.

Someone made the dread mistake of giving me a Jack in the Box antenna topper. Yes I Jokerized him. Yes, I put The Joker Blogs website on the hat with a bunch of ha ha ha's. Yes I am a dweeb. So what? Screw all y'all.

Jokerized Jack

By the way, there's a new Blog coming out tomorrow. He's editing now. Be afraid...be very afraid.

Well, isn't this just the plum in the pudding?

Can a series of YouTube videos with 8,000 fans help launch the Hollywood career of a fledgling actor/director? What do you think? Here's a radio interview Hawk and Tom (WFBC, Greenville, SC) did with the star of the popular Joker Blogs.

You should go show your support by commenting. Some VIPs are watching that spot and it would help Blog Boy immensely. If you help Little Bro, then I will continue to smile at you. :) See? Like that. Oh, and spread the joy, will you please pretty please? Thanks much, as Hexina would say.
tinhuviel: (TJB Cliffs of Insanity)
Just got word from [livejournal.com profile] filmkitty that Blog Boy is gonna be featured in a number of items on a Facebook page called The Hollywood Lounge. You should join up so you don't miss all the goodies they're gonna give us.

Oh, and pass it on!
tinhuviel: (TJB Cliffs of Insanity)
Stay tuned for The Joker Blogs: Part II starting this Saturday!

And who knew that Joker had a home? He's always being portrayed as having a hideout, but never a home. [livejournal.com profile] paisleydaze, what's your spin on this?
tinhuviel: (TJB Cliffs of Insanity)
For those of you who missed the interview with my Little Bro on Friday, it's now available on Hawk & Tom's website. Just click the pretty picture below!

Oh oh oh and be sure to pass it on!

I am so close to finishing "The Sainted Confessor," it's not even funny. That, combined with the madness that will follow Dude's interview, will have my time in a vice grip for the next 36 hours, I'm thinking. If I owe you an email or some sort of communication, please be patient with me. I'm running on 1/4 of a brain and that's full of holes, so I want to do things right by everyone. That may take some time. Please don't think I'm ignoring or neglecting you. If I do either, you'll know it....Oh....you'll know it. BWAHAHAHAHA!

Here's the link to the MTV article: http://splashpage.mtv.com/2009/10/05/the-joker-blogs-offer-peek-inside-dark-knight-nemesis-therapy/

And the IMDb article: http://www.imdb.com/news/ni1049863/

Here's a sample of the article:

The video series, which currently includes 17 episodes posted over the last year, claims to be a collection of taped therapy sessions between Joker and Dr. Harleen Quinzel (destined to become the Joker's accomplice, Harley Quinn) conducted at Gotham's infamous Arkham Asylum. It also features an impressively spot-on impression of Ledger's freakishly scary Joker.

Pass on the TJB Goodness, won't you?

From The Joker Blogs website:

Hawk & Tom's interview with The Joker Blog's film maker aka Blog Boy will be on
Friday 9 October at 9:30 AM EST!! You can listen to it here:
http://www.hawkandtom.com/

Just remember to register on the website between now and then, if you haven't already done so. Mldrfan provided detailed instructions on how to do that and they can be found here in announcements as well as the main site page and on Facebook. Yes, we cover our bases. When you work for Joker, you have to or you might come to a fork in the road...throat.

The forum for discussion after hearing the interview is in the TJBActor forum. This forum is moderated, so don't be dismayed if your post doesn't show immediately. Give it some time. Mldrfan and I will be there to release all messages as soon as they're posted. Please review the rules for that forum before posting, though, okay? Also, please don't start new threads about the interview in unmoderated forums because they will be deleted, no warning, no questions asked.

Also, the interview will be made available to folks on WFBC's website for a week, then made available on TheJokerBlogs.com thereafter. Please no filesharing of any bootleg copies of the interview! The guys at B93.7 were open to what the Joker Blogs is all about and wanted to interview Blog Boy. The least we can do is give them some web traffic to show our thanks.

That said, the moderators have full authority to delete any messages regarding filesharing of any sort. If you recorded the interview, that's great! But don't share it with people until the week's moratorium is over. It's only common courtesy to the radio station.

Also, for the convenience of your international folks, here's the link to a time chart so you'll know what time the interview will be airing in your country.

The new Blog! Can we say "intense," boys and girls? Yes, I think we can.

tinhuviel: (I Blog)
Yes, it's going to happen! Yes, it's happening here in SC (well, sorta...it's a phone interview, but the radio station is like 15 miles away from me. Weird eh?). Yes, it's going to be epic and monumental because that's all Blog Boy knows how to be! ha ha! Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker was kind enough to compile all the information you need in order to listen to the interview next week. It's on the Joker Blogs Website, but I wanted to post it all here too...just to cover all bases.

Cut for image-heavy instructions from my Capo Bastone... )

Please pass this on to everyone. Thankies!

Sorry to spam my own journal with The Joker Blogs, but things are a bit busy over there right now as we enter Task Week.

The link above is the first of those Tasks. If you like to be part of viral efforts please, by all means, join in the fun! You know I love viral marketing. With a name like tinhuviel pestis, how could I not? See you in Gotham!

Okay, I was gonna wait for this one, but since Moobug has done the UK post, I may as well post this Task, which is of Many, One!

In the US, and I imagine Canada (if I’m wrong here, I’ll leave it to one of our Canadian mods to give instruction to that effect), we all have our local radio stations, but one often prevails over them all, usually featuring a popular morning radio show which showcases lots of comedy, talk, news, and general entertainment information.

Your Task is to contact your morning radio show by any means necessary (email, text, phone, etc) and ask them to help Find Patient #4479 along with our website http://www.thejokerblogs.com. Also, collect the information about your local radio station and post it here with all its information. If we can cross-reference as many radio stations across the nation, we might can make this go viral in an unprecedented way. I’ll post my local radio station’s information as an example of what we need.

So again, instructions in a nutshell:
• Collect your major local radio station’s morning show info and post it here
• Beginning tomorrow morning (starting around 5 AM if possible), send the message Find Patient #4479 / http://www.thejokerblogs.comvia phone, fax, email, Twitter, or any other way afforded by the radio station.
• Do this tomorrow morning and Wednesday morning unless otherwise instructed.
• Don’t limit yourself to just your radio station. We’re a global community now, thanks to the Internet. Spider this out as much as humanly possible.

If you have any questions, shriek!

My Dude got himself partnered to You Tube because he's bloody brilliant like that. As a result, Da Toob is going to start featuring and promoting The Joker Blogs. Blog Boy didn't want people being drawn into the Blogs with an older episode and wondering what on Earth was going on, so he re-shot the first episode of the Blogs, entitled "Therapy Begins." Just totally re-did it. And he did it better. So here it is, along with a shiny teaser trailer of what's to come for long-time Blog Bogglers and Minions.

Please pass this on to everyone!

tinhuviel: (TJB Cliffs of Insanity)
Yep, you saw that right. VideoSSSSSS. Plural. Here's the deal.

In light of The Joker Blogs new Partnership with You Tube, we have opted to re-release “Therapy Begins.” Why? Because You Tube will be promoting the Blogs and a lot of newcomers will be coming to see what the hullabaloo is about. We want them to start at the beginning of the series and not be confused by the Arkham breakout as seen in “BRB.”

But take heart, minions!  Alongside “Therapy Begins,” we’re also releasing a teaser trailer of what’s to come in the The Joker Blogs.  And what’s to come will be coming much sooner than you’d expect after a Joker Blogs video release, so have your Task Tools ready and and your eyes peeled on your computer monitors.

‘Cos Mister J isn’t done with us yet…..not  by a long shot.

So all you crazy Blogs Bogglers and Mad Minions now know the skinny. Be online tomorrow. I know I will be. And tell everyone if for no other reason but you love your Tin and will do anything to make her happy.
tinhuviel: (I Blog)
It occurred to me today that everyone on LJ is on someone else's F-List. Now, in the Hollywood Scheme of Things, that pretty much makes us all more useless than dirt. Doesn't that make all of you feel beyond special? I know being on people's F-lists just give me the warm fuzzlies.

Okay, enough of the sarcasm. I'm proud to be on people's f-lists. I feel very honoured to be on other folk's friends-lists. In fact, I'm much rather be on an LJ F-list than any old fast-track LA A-List. Since Kathy Griffin is closer to us here on LJ than she is to the A-List in LA, she may as well start blogging with the rest of us and give her life on the D-List some Blog-Nerd Cred. Power to the People, Yo! C'mon, Kathy, you know you wanna! If you read this, come join us! We aren't Scientology! We're Goatology! All hail Frank!

In other, more horrific news, I stepped onto a fire ant mound whilst carrying in groceries. My foot sunk about 2 inches into the ground, which means the mound was one of their Major Mound Centers of Fire Ant Control. And I just destroyed their most important ground controls with one terrorist foot. All hell broke loose. Ant went everywhere. The whole of the fire ant nation went on high alert except for their fearless leader, who was in a far off, much smaller mound, reading a book upside down to baby ants (antlings? antlets? little white eggs?). Every ant within a two mile radius came to attack my foot. Thankfully, I had moved on but, as I walked passed the horror that my foot had visited upon the fire ant community, I saw with not a small amount of evil glee, full on fire ant chaos at ground zero, as the evil little bastards inspected every millimeter of my hoof print.

But I know.. Oh I know....... They don't forget easily and they never ever forget. The next time I go out to the mow the grass, I'd best have on a kevlar Bat Suit because this Joker is going down as far as they're concerned. You know how people hold up against the scarabs in the Mummy movies? Or the freak-o spider scene in The Mist? That's gonna be me around Tuesday or Wednesday when I go out to mow the lawn. I hope Aunt Tudi has the stomach to film it 'cos I'm gonna get out at least one "Kneel before Zod!" before they take me down just for the sick and twisted giggles of Blog Boy (long story....). Although....it would be rather humourous to have your last words be "Kneel before Zod!" before you die a painful and horrifying death. It'll be a shame I won't be around to witness the hilarity after the fact.

Speaking of Blogs, Blog Boy has been interviewed by one of the Minions! The entire interview can be read here. This part, though, I really dug. I think [livejournal.com profile] paisleydaze might as well. Speaking of which, as soon as I post this, I have another installment of End Game to read. W00T!

Medici's Interview

M: Do you use the character as a way to communicate certain philosophies that you might have? For example you get into some really interesting ideas about the shortness of life ‘Meet Steve’ and the role of the individual within the machine (Wild Card – BRB)

JB: Philosophy has always been a great interest for me. It’s fascinating to wonder whether man is basically good, evil or just really hungry. So yes, it has been fun to discuss personal ideas throughout the series. But I think that the Joker has always been like that since the very early comics. He plays with peoples’ heads all the time. For his own gain as well as just to see if they’ll snap. It’s very opposite of crazy. It’s scarily sane and manipulative. And that’s a wonderful place to discuss philosophy since it’s very independent. Everyone is their own person and we all have ideas and thoughts of how things work or should be. And The Joker Blogs seemed like a great place to explore those ideas.

Orright, I'm off to write and prepare for my imminent death at the teeny-tiny hands of angry fire ants. Do let me know what mischief you've been up to.
tinhuviel: (Why So Tinhuviel?)

Aunt Tudi had her other trigger finger surgery today. Before we left for the surgery suite, she had to see the doctor and sign paperwork and whatnot. So we did that. As we left, the receptionist stopped me and asked, “Girl, what is that on your shirt? Is that….is that the Joker?

“Nooooo! This is Darth Maul!” I said proudly, popping my boobs out a tad to accentuate Maul’s gigantic face. “You know, from Star Wars?”

She gave me this incredulous look, which told me she knew naught of which I was speaking. That made me rather sad, but what also flipped me out was that she’d confuse Maul of people with The Joker. What? I mean….really? You’ve got to be…joking me!

But I took it as a “sign from God” that I should use this opportunity, and use it, I did. “Do you like the Joker?” I asked.

“Oh no…but my daughter…” Eye roll with obligatory ‘pfffft…’ “She’s crazy about him. She loves that Joker!”

And she meant that, not getting the Burton in-joke she just shared with me.

“Well, if she loves the Joker, boy have I got something she will adore! Tell her to go to this site and watch all the episodes in order, they’re numbered. Then tell her that, if she likes them, once she stops laughing her butt off, she needs to subscribe to the channel and then visit this site and join the forum. Have her join in the conversation about the Blogs and take part in the tasks to come, ‘cos it’s gonna be lots of fun and, if you’re a Joker fan, it’s gonna be a blast.”

She took the URLs I’d written down for her to give to her daughter, then looked up at me. “So this isn’t Heath Ledger doing this?”

“No, it’s a young actor who’s picked up the Joker where Heath left him off. It’s a kind of a tribute to Heath Ledger and his brilliant performance, but the actor has also made the Joker character his own. We’re hoping that Nolan will take notice of him but, if he doesn’t we’re also hoping that his brilliant acting in this and in other things will pave a clear road straight to success in his career as an actor.”

“Oh so you know him?”

“Well, no, not really. Well, kinda. Well, I know of him. Well, I sort of know him. Okay, it’s kind of complicated. We’re all calling him Blog Boy until he takes off the Joker war paint, so let your daughter know that’s his unofficial name at the moment. Either that or Joker Blogs Dude. Or whatever she wants to call him.”

“What’s his name?”

“I can’t tell you that. Just pass those on to her. Watch them yourself! I bet you’ll find them hilarious! And, if you need to get in touch with me over there, I’m Tinhuviel on the TJB.com website.” And I wrote my name on the paper as well.

So a woman mistakenly identifying Sith Lord Darth Maul as the Joker of all people may have gotten two more converts to The Joker Blogs.

Still though….Darth Maul? The Joker? Ne’er the twain should meet! Somehow they did….

A Sith Lord PR Ninja’s work is never done.

OH PS: What do you think of my icon? [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker made it because she is a freakin' MASTER at Photoshop. The End-d.

The Joker Blogs is only 2 souls away from having 7000 subscribers. Why don't you help my Little Bro out and take him over the 7k mark before the end of the evening, eh? You'd make the Tin very happy. Very happy indeed. Like handing out Dark Side Cookies happy. So....go.
tinhuviel: (Maul - snarky)
I just got an email from Peter Serafinowicz.

Yeah, that Peter Serafinowicz. "Tatooine is sparsely populated. If the trace is correct, I will find them quickly, my Master."

Y'know...the voice of Darth Maul. That's like .... well, I don't know what's that like.

I'm emitting that beeeeep sound you hear at the beginning of BRB. Perpetually.

O_O This is the face I'll have all day. Until [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker is finished with me, then it will change to o_0.

Why can't I live a normal life? Oh that's right...I bring it on myself. ::lodges a spork in her eye::
tinhuviel: (Cadmus)
Aunt Tudi and I have some errands to run later. After that, though, I have some things I want to do.

I've begun a new quote renovation, taking old quotes and giving modern interpretations, usually Sithly in nature, 'cos that's how I roll yo.

I'm also going to be writing a thing for the mods on TJB on how to deal with 'problem children' on the forums and on their networking sites. We're all being friended and followed from You Tube to Twitter and, sometimes, it gets little hairy with some of the more obnoxious Nerfs. Since I've had experience with folks like this in the past, especially whilst working in The Pit, I'm gonna impart what knowledge I have regarding this to the mods, one of which is relatively new to the net and are a little freaked out by what she's recently had to deal with. I expect things are only gonna get worse in the respect with the release of the next couple of episodes of The Joker Blogs. Tasks will be involved, so things are sure to get crazy.

The next part of The Blood Crown is for Kelat to pass on to Orphaeus the body of knowledge she carries within her infinite memory. He'll be come the keeper of all the Tarmian history and wisdom in relation to the Tribes of Thessaly, making him the first male to hold such sacred knowledge, and the first human. I think his title won't be Father of Memory, but Bard of Memory. In Tarmian, the word would be Kelat'lihar'vha, which essentially means the Singer of Memory. The memories will come unbidden to him as they are needed on the journey to and quest within Rome. Cadmus will be furious that he must depend on Orphaeus for knowledge they need for the success of their venture, but it won't matter because this ability Orphaeus possesses will be the one thing that will keep him alive in the presence of such a volatile and vicious Vampire.

I'm thinking of seeking collaboration in turning The Chalice into a screenplay. The book was always a movie in my head first. I'd had the thing cast, the person I wanted to score the film, and possible directors. I never stuck with one director, because none of them seemed just right for maintaining the vision I wanted. Maybe Peter Jackson, but I'm not sure he'd want to move away from the central goodness he tries to instill in his films, even though he comes from a gory, ridiculous background. Neither one really fits The Chalice anyway. Sure there's fantasy and blood, but neither really fits into the Jackson world. I need a director who has a hint of sociopathy, who can tap into the soul of the Cadmus character and allow the actor to bring him out in all his horrible glory. Personally, I'd like Ed Kowalczyk to play Cadmus Pariah. After seeing the 'Freaks' video, I really think he could pull it off, and he's had acting experience before, having appeared in The Fight Club.

I added that extra video to show his stage presence. He has that hypnotic charismatic power over his audience that I've described in Cadmus more than once. I think he'd be a dead ringer for the Cadmus character. Of course Barry would be my first pick, but I don't think he'd be willing to do that and, honestly, he's too old for the young Vampire now. Not that he doesn't still look uncannily young for his age, don't get me wrong. I just wonder if Ed could do a British accent and if he'd be willing to work with Barry Andrews in the creation of the character for screen. And, of course, Barry would have to do the songs for Magnificat. I'd like for Danny Elfman to score the film.

Gods listen to me. I talk like it's already a given, and I still don't have anyone who could help me make it into a screenplay. Pathetic much? I'm way too much of a dreamer.

Speaking of music, [livejournal.com profile] booraven22 sent me a bunch, including "I Like It" by Moby. I was listening to it while on chat with one of the TJB mods, [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker, who also happens to be a fantastic video editor who shows her fine work at her You Tube channel. I sent the song to her with the message "Nerfs the world over would worship at your toes if you made a tribute video to this song." Well, she did. And I've been laughing uncontrollably ever since. I'm not posting the link here because that'd just be wrong of me, and I feel dirty enough as it is. Anyway, that's a lot of what I did yesterday, just cackling at the absurdity of what we'd done. I blame [livejournal.com profile] booraven22 for sending me the song. I have to blame someone.

These new meds are kicking my butt. I fell asleep during Knowing last night, so I need to watch the rest of that. For now, though, I think I'm gonna have another lie down.
tinhuviel: (Can't Stop Writing)
Too bad I wasn't awake this morning to enjoy it. I took my jacked-up meds like a good little brain patient last night around 9 PM. Midnight came and I was still wide awake, just working away like a happy little minion, sweeping through the forums like a harpy on a mop (that one was for you, [livejournal.com profile] filmkitty), working on a drawing for [livejournal.com profile] paisleydaze, and rereading what I have so far of The Blood Crown. Y'know, hey lolly lolly just-a doin' my thang. Add to the mix an insane brainstorming chat-session about a viral campaign and Nerf management with [livejournal.com profile] luvthyjoker and Fox, the Clown's Updater over on You Tube, and you have the makings of a long and happy evening.

I was, that is, until right around 3 am, while I was online with [livejournal.com profile] rancid_rainbow discussing the need for a Town Hall Meeting, now that Little Bro has such a large and scattered team helping him out. Well, we were talking about that and music. And that's the last thing I remember until around 5 this morning when Aunt Tudi asked me to get up and give her her insulin shot. I woke up starved to death so I got a wee bowl of grits and couldn't even finish those. Aunt Tudi woke me a few minutes later, telling me to get my hair out of my food. I went and cleaned up, got rid of the grits, and wibbled my way back to the love seat to finish one more thing online before I turned in.

I woke up on the love seat at 2 PM.

So I've had over 9 hours of deep, uninterrupted, dreamless sleep, just at the wrong time of day. I expect I'll be up all night tonight. I'm not taking the meds tonight. I'll just stay awake until around 6 PM tomorrow evening. Then I'll take the meds and maybe I'll fall out at the correct time. What I really think my problem is, is that I'm by nature a night person. All of my creative efforts and thoughts kick my spirit up a notch when the sun goes down. Maybe forcing myself to sleep at night isn't the best idea in the world. I'm gonna try it for a while, but I may instead reverse myself completely and take my meds for a daytime sleep schedule, interrupting it only long enough to perform diurnal duties before crawling back into my coffin.

In other news, I am officially retired from writing The Date Series. I know I've said that before, but this time is different. Yesterday, I deleted my j-Tunes from my i-Tunes playlists and from Son of iGor. If nothing else bespeaks finality, that does to anyone who truly knows me. The tale is in the music. If the music is dispersed, the tale is over. I have achieved Zen Oneness with my Joker. All the Js that were crowding my head merged into one happy, reconciled, shiny new Head Joker who can now reside in the brain pan and give advice on chaos, anarchy, and dealing with difficult people as needed.

There was one other J-fic I was considering writing, and I actually started it. Its working title was "One Pretty Bad Day," and it was to follow a day in the life of J, who has apparently fallen victim to Murphy's Law. Yes, it was a comedy. No, there was no violence or sex involved. I may still do it, I don't know. Right now, the only J-related thing I have the time or sanity to focus on is The Joker Blogs and making sure Little Bro gets to do his thing in the way he wants to do it, with no or close to no distraction or bother. Where my mind is right now, any J-related writing will be in that vein, for the maintenance and furtherance of Little Bro's growing empire. My new Head J, who sits next to Maul on the Council of We'll Kick Your Ass and Laugh while We Do It, will be very useful to my psyche as I keep on keeping on in this capacity. The characters that inhabit my head are my archetypes, whom I tap when the need arises. There's never a dull moment when a Sith Lord and a sociopathic Clown with self-image issues are on the job. There's some other stuff I want to write regarding TJB, but that'll have to wait until later when my thoughts are gathered.

I'd also like to get back into HG World Zombie Drama podcast, but I'll be needing a new mic before I can do that. Mine is knackered. I may as well string a tin can to one of my USB ports. I thought I'd be able to get one this month, but it's not gonna happen 'til September now. I'm hoping I can still be a part of it in some way by then. I had a hella good time doing what I did with 'In the Flesh.'

There's that, and I've gotten the bug to start drawing again, thanks to my interp of one of [livejournal.com profile] paisleydaze's characters. After I finish that, I may try my hand at a new Cadmus picture. It's been years since I drew him, so I'm sure he's changed in subtle ways that will only come out on paper. Heck, for that matter, I may as well draw him and Orphaeus together, since The Blood Crown is as much about the dynamics of their relationship as it is about anything else. Now that I have new artist friends who can give me good advice and beat me about the head with easels if need be, I feel much better about drawing and being able to improve myself.

And, for the first time in quite a long time, I have The Blood Crown open and looking at me from the computer monitor. I feel rejuvenated from my fan fiction vacation, even though that holiday took a right turn at Albuquerque when it should have taken a left. All in all, it was a scream, as opposed to The Vampire Relics being a Shriek. Totally different vibe. And now I'm getting back into the dreadful poetry of Cadmus Pariah and company. Once more into the Abyss...

Better untried than found defective
Better unhinged than unselective
Better messed-up than compromised
Better ignored than not emphasized
tinhuviel: (Can't Stop Writing)
Okay, I'm taking a break from psychically slaughtering Nerfs to write here before I rrite more on the story. I've been meaning to post these pictures all day, but I kept being pulled into rampant idiocy and general insanity (or that could be the other way around). I think it's the psychic energy of Lughnassadh that's brought out the crazies more than usual to test the limits of my patience. It made me wish I were in Dune. In Dune there are words that can kill.

Anyway.... on to the pictures!

I'm about halfway through The Fic That Should Not Be, Yet Is! I would have probably finished it today, but I ran into a few issues with TJB.com and associated websites that took my full attention. A couple of people who know who Blog Boy is decided to get all rowdy. Probably the psychic influence of Lughnassadh. Everyone wants to don a kilt, paint themselves blue, and show their arses on Lughnassadh! I've got an hour and 10 minutes to go as I write this. After that, everyone needs to calm down so I can finish this story or I'm gonna snap, don war paint, and start blowing things up starting with the crazy people who've made this day sooo enjoyable for me.

Now... I am going to write until I pass out, whenever that is. Someone needs killin' and I aim to make it happen no later than tomorrow! The writing is going much more easily this time, I guess because I'm wanting to write this particular story. And I've always been a big fan of prequels, and that's what this is, so there you go.

And, and as marker... apparently I am now a bad ass.
