Date: 2011-08-16 10:50 pm (UTC)Sweetie, sepsis is extremely dangerous, moves fast, and can be fatal. I hate to say it but you need to know. My dad died from it. They have to find the source of the infection in her blood and treat it. Sending you all the love and good vibes I can hon.

Date: 2011-08-20 10:11 pm (UTC)They need to hit it with the right antibiotic. If they're lucky, they'll get it on the first guess or two, otherwise they may need to run culture tests and wait for results to come back. There's a few bacterials that are common for sepsis, and possibly with certain health conditions, so they have some educated guesses to start with, if the ICU team is on the ball and gives a shit.
