A Day with PaYnE

clumsycake and I went over for the PaYnE rehearsal. Unfortunately Bug ran into some car troubles and was running late, so we didn't get to hear them actually play. They were checking levels and tuning the instruments when we left. Even their sound checks sound fan-fucking-tastic, so I'm hoping they go far.

I got some pics. All are taken by moi except for the one of me taken by clumsycake. Some of the pics didn't turn out too well because of the sun coming in through the windows. They could be lighter to make me happy.

We're going back in two weeks to hear them jam again. This time, I'm not gonna have stuff I have to do later in the afternoon so I want have to bail on the dudes if they're running late. I felt terrible about that.

Joe is one of the coolest souls I've met in a while. He's much more down-to-Earth than I initially imagined him. When Rick first told me about his Kung Fu teacher, I was really in awe and quite nervous about ever meeting him because I figured he'd take one look at me, cackle at the insanity of my even trying Kung Fu, then rip out my throat with his pinky finger in 3 seconds or less.

I really need to start classes again with Rick. I feel like I've lost all the ability I fancied I had once long ago.
