The Story of O

I received my books in the mail yesterday and have been devouring 'The Story of O'. One part completely, for lack of a better expression, freaked me out.


In the story, O is taken to Chateau Roissy and trained as a 'traditional' BDSM slave. She's done this willingly to prove her love to Rene, her lover. At the beginning of her training, O is told that she will receive a ring at the end of her stay to signify that she was a 'guest' of the chateau to other members of this group.

I got to the part where she received her ring...and this is the portion of the book that blew me away.

Excerpt from the story:
Then he asked her to choose, from among the exactly identical rings which he showed to her in a small wooden box, the one which fit her left ring finger. They were strange iron rings, banded with gold inside, and the signet was wide and as massive as that of an actual signet ring, but it was convex, and for design bore a three-spoked wheel inlaid in gold, with each spoke spiraling back upon itself like the solar wheel of the Celts.

Oh my gawd...it's a Triskele! I wear a Triskele ring every day...I have a Triskele pendant (which Lew currently possesses). Hell, I even have a Triskele tattoo!

How spooky is that? I was led by omens to this book and then find the symbol I embraced so completely featured in prominence in the book.

Like I said....freaked out.
