Well, Mary just called to inform me that the folks who need help trust Appleone's judgment and are wanting me to start work on Monday without having to interview. The first day will be considered a "working interview." I work from 8 to 5 at between $9 and $9.50 an hour, which is fine, considering where it is. It's right down the road from me. If the Southern sun didn't broil me alive by the time I got there, I could walk to work!

After a week or so of working, if I decide I can deal with it, I'm going to start looking for a moped. ::firm nods::

Thing 1: I used to work for a temp agency and it was wonderful. So flexible and yet stable at the same time. Loved it!

Thing 2: Mopeds rock! Make sure you greet people with "Ciao" ala Eddie Izzard when you pass by.

A third thing even though I said only 2. LJ's spell check doesn't recognize Izzard so it has suggested that I replace it with "buzzard". Awesome!

Anywho, congratulations on the new opportunity! How far away is the place, miles-wise (down the road is quite subjective)? Could you use a bicycle at first, so as to save up for a better moped?

Mopeds are a lot of fun - owned one as a kid. One thing though - WEAR A HELMET!!! I like your brain way too much to risk it getting dented....

Congrats bub. I was going to see if you wanted to go for a ride on the motorcycle but you're working. I think that's awesome. I'm glad someone is having some luck with it.

I still think you should get a small motorcycle so we can go riding together.
