This tale was written with respect and admiration for all those whom inspired the ebb and flow of the action and the characters enacted herein. No disrespect was intended in any way, shape or form. Many thanks are extended to the parties responsible for driving me to the 'creation' of these characters and I shall be eternally indebted to them for the impact they have had upon me. Cadmus Pariah, The Great Hive, The Augury of IGdeon, and all related vampires and vampire traditions and legends are products of 'The Chalice War' and cannot be used without my express permission. If you do choose to use any of these characters or terms without first seeking my blessing or the blessing of those whom inspired them, I shall surely be forced to unleash a rare and special wrath upon you.
Thanks to the following artists, whose music powered the conjuration of the tale: Shriekback (as always and with much delight), Fluke, Underworld, the various artists featured on 'The Matrix' soundtrack (in particular Rob D, Meat Beat Manifesto, and The Prodigy), and Front Line Assembly.
'Embrace of Cadmus' is dedicated to Michelle Marie, who has waited for me to repay her for her delightful tale of "love" and *sacrifice* that she wrote for me almost a year ago. It is of note that I have agonised for a decade on how to portray the tale of Cadmus' only vampire childe. Little did I know that I was waiting to meet Michelle!

but I've been getting this ungodly craving to play video games lately...and I don't even have game system. What's up with that?
The last game I played was King's Field II on the Quality Assurance Playstation. It was a fantasy adventure game and I was lost in it, actually weeping when I finally reached the end. What a dweeb...
I'd like to find another game like King's Field II, but it'd be pretty pointless without a game system.
Hopefully the dread urge will just go away.

I would have been home 2 hours ago had the battery on my car not pooped out on me at Bi-Lo.
DAMNATION
I'm tired, perturbed, stressed, and now, thanks to having to buy a battery, financially challenged. (I'm being PC here so I won't fall into emoting compound expletives into the aether).
I must go to bed now before my own battery runs out on me. Take me, Blessed Sleep! Take me away!
