I don't think it's really all that normal to sit in one's box at work and cry like a baby.
Damn Dr. Yost and all those like him. I hope he gets hit by a Eli Lilly truck full of fucking Prozac.

Peter

I just got off the phone with an old friend who used to work at RCA. He was the very first person I spoke with in my newfound position as "special orders representative". I was so nervous about talking to people on the phone and Peter was incredibly patient with me. He turned out to be one of my best friends at work, albeit a long distance friendship, and one of my strongest supporters.

Like everyone else I've ever gotten close to, Peter left. He was ousted by the label probably at the worst point in his life, under poor circumstances. Even though it's been way over a year since that happened, I can't say I ever really got over it. This was a time when all of my work friends were either taking severence and leaving of the their own volition or, like Peter, they were being forced out for no good reason. Thus was the beginning of the enslavement of the remaining serfs.

After Peter left RCA, he went out to California and we spoke a couple of times before a deafening silence descended up on our friendship.....until yesterday. Yesterday he called and wanted me to call him back. I should have but, since I was in tears for most of the day, I didn't feel it prudent to crank our relationship back up in the midst of drama. I decided I'd wait until today; however, Peter beat me to it and called again today.

We had a nice long conversation about what we've been up to and where we're going. I'm satisfied now that Peter is going to be all right, despite it all. For a while there, I had my doubts.

It was really good to hear from him and we've promised to stay in touch. He's interviewing for Condé Nast tomorrow and pledged to me a weekly magazine over which to daydream if he gets the job. Godspeed, Peter.
