I just received this in my work inbox.
Hey Everyone,
I was thinking it would be nice to do something for D for Valentines since P is not at home . After all he is over there taking care of all of us and can't be home with his family .
Things have not been easy , D has allot of responsibility .
What do you think about ordering D some flowers and having them delivered here on Friday ?
Anyone that would like to participate please give the money to me by Thursday .
Please don't feel pressured and give what you want .
Now P is in Iraq taking care of Dubya's political career and he probably doesn't even realise that's what he's doing. Since so many of "our boys" are currently over there "taking care of us" from the Big Bad Arab (myyyy Grandma, what a big turban you have. All the better to terrorise you, Little Dumb Riding Hood), the workplace has become a hotbed of patriotic bullshit with the e'er looming cloud of severe repercusion should someone actually disagree with the status quo. Of course, this is the Conservative Right Bible Belt, so what can I expect? I wrote a response, but thought better of it before I hit the send key. Such is the way of Freedom, that one fears to speak her mind lest she lose her livelihood. God Bless America, Land of FREE, Home of the BRAVE. Whatever...

Hi. Since Dubya has seen fit to give the corporate machine all the power, thus preventing my getting a raise in the past 3+ years, I'm currently financially strapped to where I will be unable to participate in this herd-like activity. I wish D well and I feel very badly that her husband is is in Iraq at the behest of a thief, who lied and cheated in order to gain power and throw us into an unnecessary and costly war. He should be at home with his family just like Dubya was when *he* was in the military, running from responsibility. It's really a shame that we have to band together to show folks like D the love since her husband is part of the war machine that currently terrorises this planet. Then again, he volunteered for this service of hatred and murder, so I'm loathe to sympathise too much, especially when everyone here still thinks he and his fellow soldiers are over there *protecting us*. So, no, I won't be participating. If you decide to gather up money to help some little old lady buy her medicine from the crooked pharmaceutical companies whom Dubya champions with zeal, I'll be happy to dig into my pockets; otherwise, leave me out of this Nazi campaign.
I think perhaps it was too harsh. Hmm..guess that's why I chose not to send it.
Why O Why can't people see that we're hurtling headlong into a Fascist Nightmare to rival Hitler's vision of the perfect world? It sickens me.
