Lodged in my head

I was so enamoured with Xanadu in 1980, I didn't just absorb all the information about the movie on the acting side, but I also got into the behind the scenes folks, like the director, producers, animators, etc. Actually, thinking back on it, I believe this was the beginning of my insistence of reading a movie's end-credits and why green_goblin70 is convinced I know the name of the key grip who worked on any movie made in 1927, which couldn't be further from the truth.

To be honest, I haven't thought about Xanadu in ages and I'm ashamed to admit that I don't even have it on DVD yet. That will change very soon, if I have my way about it, though.

So, yesterday, Aunt Tudi got her Krimmus gift from Todd: Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price. While I was scanning the credits on the back of the DVD case, a name just jumped out at me. Robert Greenwald! Surely not. Surely, this isn't the same man who directed Xanadu, I thought to myself. I mean, what a leap.....from roller-disco Greek mythology to documentaries focused on the pure eeeeevil that is Wally World?

I trotted to the bathroom, cos that's where I keep my DVD & Video Movie Guide and looked up Xanadu. Yep, my memory was correct! It's the same Robert Greenwald! Not only am I astonished that he is responsible for both movies, but I'm also astonished that, after 25 years, the people involved with Xanadu are still present in my memory. That's just......eerie.

Random Sighting and Other Matters

I just spotted Kevin Smith in a Law & Order episode. How cool is that? I never fail to notice eye candy....

Right now, I feel like yak shite warmed up on a broken hotplate in a bare room on the skids. Yeah, just like that. It's my fault. I'm not getting into it. This is just to mark the day, so I'll know when looking back.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better for me. It has to be. HAS. TO. BE.

Braggity Braggity Brag

I was trying to figure out Shmoop's approximate birthday. We found her at about 5 weeks of age on 5/24/2005, so I'm thinking that she was born around mid-April. After looking at the first Shmoop post, I was terribly proud of how far she's come.
