Notes from a Concert Go-er
Jan. 16th, 2003 09:45 amHugh got to see Barry in DC. Here's some of what he had to say, the lucky dawg!
"He did all of the songs from HBOS except for "Contract Song" and "Awake Too Long", plus 6 or 7 new ones. As a lovely surprise, he did "Rossmore Road"... as his
encore. One keyboard, plus a box for playing background tracks for the new songs."
"The new stuff was all grand, and covered a wide range... the standout favorite for me was the sublimely eerie and gorgeous "Waterbaby", which apparently was *brand* new..."
"The audience was enthusiastic and I think he was encouraged and enthused himself by this..."
"He hung out and chatted for a good bit after, sold a bunch of CDs... some people were telling him to try a cheesesteak in Philly, but he seemed kind of dubious about the concept."
Barry plays Philly tonight, then he's off to New York where, hopefully, some label folks will be there to see how very groovy he is!
I so hope all this works out for him.
