No Escape

from the wave of insane patriotism that's crashing into this country's collective psyche. This morning the new radio station I'm listening to found it prudent to play a version of 'The Star Spangled Banner'. I wish I wish I wish I could run off to the Northwest Territories. That's about as remote from the US as I can get and still be in relatively familiar surroundings. I'd rather freeze my ass off than have it blown off by the inevitable storm troopers that will eventually police this once seemingly free nation.

Bleh...

I had a dream once, years ago, that a bunch of my Wiccan and Pagan friends and I were jacked up in a bunker out in some national park and that we'd become freedom fighters, wearing camo, toting arms...the whole megillah. We'd been forced into exile by the theocratic government and were now fighting for our lives because it had been decreed that we should be exterminated. The scenario was a scary one and earned me the title of 'Militant Wiccan' when I told folks what I'd dreamt.

I wonder now if it was perhaps a premonition of what's to come.....
