tinhuviel: (Maul - shit)

I was trapped in the gentle webs of Morpheus from yesterday morning until....this morning. Went to bed Friday night, early, and passed out fast. Slept all night Friday. Got up to to help Aunt Tudi with her insulin shot at 5 AM, then went back to bed. At 11:30, Llew shook me awake. I drifted through semi-consciousness from 11:30 until 2:00, when I asked if I could take a quick nap before we went to the grocery store. I slept for 35 minutes, then got up and drove Aunt Tudi and Llew to Bi-Lo. We got home a little before 6 PM and I asked if it was okay if I lay down for maybe an hour's nap. I woke up at 10:45 last night. Freaked out, I came and apologised to Aunt Tudi, let the dogs out to the bathroom, fetched Llew to bed, and went back to sleep. I finally woke up around 9 this morning.

I feel like I could go right back to bed.

I feel absolutely useless, but my Inner Morpheus, who feels no guilt, is screaming for me to go back to bed. I'm not going to listen today. I have obligations to my family to be present and conscious, and generally alive. Currently, I could be mistaken as an extra on a George Romero film, or Nick Nolte ~~again! No pictures are forthcoming. I do have a modicum of self-esteem, after all.

What the hell causes that? Do I really have narcolepsy? Or has some old hag from a fairy tale thrown a misguided whammy? Somewhere, Beauty is wide awake and doing her thing and here's Sleeping Ugly, wondering what the hell she did wrong. I guess that means some ugly castle servant will have to come give me a smooch before I can get on with my life.

Sounds like sleep apnea to me. That's how Keeper was before he got his CPAP machine. He also snored a lot.

Alas, I have no sleep Apnea. Got checked for it before my surgery and have been checked since, just in case. I'm going to die, aren't I?

I've had this "extreme sleeping" thing happen to me before. I know they say you can't "catch up" on your sleep, but I think that sometimes your body reaches *such* a deficit that it just shuts down on you until all systems are decently re-charged.

Maybe you're fighting off a bug...that also can throw your body into a state of "I'll fight while the rest of you sleeps".

Now, if only I could figure out why I can't type. I swear, I've backspaced more than I've actually "said".

I've done that before. If I didn't backspace so much my typing speed would be 80-100 instead of 60-80 knowhutimeen?

I've been suspected of being on sleeping pills or something related when this happens, so it makes me feel good to hear that someone else has experienced this. I have horked up green all day Saturday and mostly today, so maybe you're right about fighting off a bugaboo. Thanks!

Aye...I have the very same typing problem...tested at 54wpm (non touch typing) and can't IMAGINE typing a consistent 80+ wpm. 0_0

Now *that's* the missing piece of information. Sounds like you've got bronchitis. (Green is usually a pretty good indicator, and extreme tiredness is another.) Sleep is the best thing for it -- short of antibiotics, that is; green usually means it's time to go straight to the doc. If you don't see some improvement in a day or two, you really should go.

Yup you had a long bout with sleepless nights before this right? I've had this happen to me many times before. I get stressed out, have nights of near sleeplessness, then my body says. We need sleep, now.

I'm glad you were tested for apnea though. The hub and I have it. Part of the problem then was his snoring would keep me awake. I'm a leg shaker when I don't wear my mask.

Sleep well. :)

Agreed.

Sometimes the body just needs sleep.

And aside from the sleepless nights, you've been stressed.

The human body is an amazing thing, and it often knows how to protect itself.

Today it was "knocking you the hell out."

I hope today finds you rested and well.

*HUGS*

Oh look...COCONUTS!!! /inside joke

I'd been sleeping pretty well before that, but I was only getting about 6 hours a night. I'm used to 8 or more. I'm a big sleeper AKA lazy lout. This work thing is wearing me out yo.

If it keeps being a problem, you might want to get your iron checked.
