Writer's Block: Animal Instinct

[Error: unknown template qotd]The owl has long been my primary animal spirit, but the bear was revealed as a strong influence in my life back in 1993. The bear, Artio in particular, is quite evident in every aspect of my life. I tend to be quite protective of my Tribe and, at the same time, inclined to rip strangers or especially offenders from limb to limb. Also, I really just would prefer to be left alone to do my thing. That's not usually possible, which provokes my seemingly perpetual grumpiness.
Don't fuck with the Great Bear Mother. No day is a good day to do that. She'd just as soon kill you as look at you.

Date: 2009-02-19 10:13 pm (UTC)Funny you should ask about animal spirits, as there is an ancient ugrian myth about the Bear, that goes about this: Once there was the Bear and for many years he lived alone, Then one day he met Woman, and after some time, they started living together. They had offspring, and from these came the Ugrians. Wich means that we are all part bear!
Even in later years, the Finns treated the Bear with outmost respect, and although they hunted it, there were rules to be followed, as for example that the bones must be returned to the earth in an orderly fashion, and the skull hanged in the holy pine tree.
The Sami people also has a similar set of rules.

This is what I have to say about guilt: Man can imagine the perfect, but also the inability to achieve it, the deficit hereby created, is known as GUILT. A totally unnessecary feeling.
I know that you have a job, relatives, friends, and interests of your own, and the day only has 24 hours.
Anytime you find the time to write to this old geezer, is a happy occasion to me, and I think you have done so quite often lately.
Go in peace my child!
Priestly yours
All the Best!
PS Hope everything will go well with that tooth of yours DS
