After trying to get anyone else to take her to see 'The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood', I ended up taking Aunt Tudi to see the movie myself.

It escapes me why anyone would make or even watch a movie that hits so close to 'real life'. For me, film is escapism. I can get real life for free and I sure as hell don't want to pay for more of it.

Aunt Tudi enjoyed the movie, as most "normal" women would, I guess, but I left feeling like I'd been conned out of $7.50. Well, at least it made her happy, and I guess it's worth it in the long run.

As for me, I don't think I'll be buying this film on DVD.

I give it 2 thumbs down for all you real escapists out there and 2 thumbs up for all you 'chick flick' fans and hubby's in the dog house (take your woman to see this film and not only will you be forgiven for whatever travesty you've recently committed, but you might also get some nookie...unless, of course, she's of my ilk...then you should just tell Fido to move over, 'cos you're gonna be there for a while).
