And Aunt Tudi seems to have contracted the plague. She sounds like Jabba the Hutt when she speaks and she has the same fresh-faced colouring of Jacob Marley's ghost. Her holiday cheer is understandably at a minimum. Oh, and that cough! Jeeezus, can we say Captain Trips, boys and girls? Stephen King could write a sequel to "The Stand" just by listening to her moist hacking and gasps for air.

Speaking of illness, in light of the latest case of Mad Cow disease, and the first to officially be found in the states, here's a Public Service Announcement for anyone who may be partaking of beefage for their holiday repartee.

Winter Warlock

"Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" is on TV right now. I always loved that song 'Put One Foot in front of the Other', where the Winter Warlock is turning good because Kris Kringle gave him a toy choo-choo. It's a damned snappy song that just sticks with you well into the New Year.

There are two things that always disturbed/fascinated me about the Winter Warlock.

1) His knees bend out. It is extremely painful to watch WW put one foot in front of the other because his legs bend the wrong way. Those of us with knee problems take serious issue with this.
2) Once he turns good, he loses his power and turns into a big honkin' wimp. There's a Sith lesson to be learnt in WW's transformation. He went from being an icy badass to a fragile old man, all because of a choo-choo. By the end of the show Topper the penguin could have kicked his ass.

This Winter Warlock won't succumb. Nosiree. Keep your damned choo-choo's to yourself.
