1. Happy One Year at LJ! As you look back over your journal, what changes do you note in yourself (if any)?
I've noticed how really negative I can be and I've been making a conscious effort (oft-times to no avail) to bring a little more positivity in my life. I have come to grips with the factors that have made me so negative and am slowly working toward either changing these factors or eradicating them from my realm of existence completely. I hope to, in the next year or two, lose weight, change jobs, go back to school, and travel a bit. Having fat, unskilled, itchy feet, stuck in the hellpit of hypocrisy is not a good environment for positive reinforcements.

2. Your connection to the earth, sea and sky is strong. When did you notice this?
When my natural mother would take me walking in the woods, I noted an overwhelming sense of smallness and peace. We would almost always encounter some sort of animal that would allow us to interact with it, and I found that quite magickal, although I didn't have a word for that feeling at that time. So the first inklings came when I was around 5 years old. I didn't consciously pursue arcane Earth teachings until I was about 20 years old waaaaaay back in 1987.

3. What is your favorite Mel Brooks film?
Oh, that's difficult. They're all so bloody good, eh? It's a toss up between Blazing Saddles and History of the World pt. 1. I guess it would have to be Blazing Saddles since I've seen it more and have the majority of it memorised. heh

4. Describe your dream job.
I actually had a dream job for about 7 years until the department was dissolved in 1997. It was in Quality Assurance at the same company I work for today. My job was to inspect CDs and (later on) video games and karaoke discs, and to listen to them checking for any audible defects that could be attributed to the CDs' manufacturer. Other than the paperwork and occasional rejection reports, my days consisted of listening to a variety of music (this is how I discovered Dave Matthews) before it was released for public consumption, playing video games, and listening to and singing karaoke (to insure the streaming lyrics were in synch). When I listened to the music, I was allowed to read, write, draw, whatever. I also got to keep samples of all the CDs I liked. It was sweet! My boss was also an incredible man with a prodoundly philosophical mind. He would come over to my office (I had one at the time...not a cube) and help with the audio inspections as we played chess. Or if he was helping with visual inspections, we'd have long conversations about Life, the Universe, and Everything (tm). It was truly a wondrous time. I thanked the Mighties every day that I got paid for doing something I absolutely loved. Alas, nothing is forever....
But now, I guess my dream job would be creating websites by myself, far away from the toothless hordes, and being paid ungodly amounts of money for doing so.

5. What lights up your life?
Good loving, good ritual, good Mexican food, good movies, good music (especially disco being played in my car when I'm on a long road trip ~ something is really damned groovy about that) and my fantasies of seeing a naked and unprotected Dubya be caught simultaneously in a swarm of killer bees and a snorkle of rabid weasels. Just like Vizzini, I'd probably die laughing.

AGREED! And it's funny as all get out to hear Patrick Stewart say it in 'Men in Tights'.
Best song ever in 'HOWpt.1': The Inquisition!
In fact...I'm off to find the lyrics (yeah, I know them, but I don't have time to type them out) and post them here.
heheheheheh
