Word Count

I was curious about how many words I actually did write last year. What got me to thinking about it was NaNoWriMo. I knew that I wrote a great deal more than just 50,059 words for the contest. I finished up The Blood Crown, which now rest at around 111k, but I didn't finish that manuscript until after the first of the year, so I'm not counting those extra words. There's no way to calculate them anyway. What I could do was open up each Joker fic and add up all the words written for each fiction dedicated to the Clown Prince of Crime. The total number I came up with, including the NaNoWriMo contest was impressive and gives me hope to move on in writing.
Even if I don't have a novel in me, I could certainly create a collection of short stories, maybe compile the Moon Myths, some of which are featured in The Vampire Relics. Anything is doable and, after looking at that number, I feel like nothing is impossible. Who could harbour almost 150k in them in a year's time? I feel like I need to sit down.
Seriously, though, I think I'm going to start compilation of the Moon Myths and finish writing the rest of them. They'd be good Pagan bedtime stories for the kiddies, and groovy Just So Stories for how each moon got its name in modern folklore. Can't hurt.
