I do not understand any holiday that holds war, explosions, and pieces of cloth in such reverence. If we'd lost the fucking war, we may actually be civilised like our Northern neighbours.

actually, the US has lost many wars, including an attempt to invade Canada. hasn't seemed to make much difference... maybe there's something in the water?

You know me - I am one of the few that misses war. And can't sleep without lots of noise in the background - specifically sounds of it....one reason I have a whole library of war movies to sleep by - better than ambien - the only thing that could make me sleep better would be constant replay of when yoda gets zapped by Palpatine in EPIII.
