Checking In
Jun. 28th, 2003 11:38 pmIt's been a long day, but a good one for the most part.
Llew didn't go with us to Asheville. He has swelling all around his ribs and back! I gave him a deep massage last night and attended to his every need while he was here at the house throughout the morning. It just tears me up to see him in pain and I ache for him. His woes rested in my mind as a constant worry throughout our journey.
Stephanie, Aunt Tudi, and I headed out toward Asheville right around Noon. The weather was cloudy and rainy in SC, but just deeply cloudy in the mountains, so much so that there was no way to go onto the Parkway and see anything, so we opted for Arden and went to spend the day at Lake Julian, feeding the ducks and geese. It was incredibly peaceful and a wonderful feeling to be able to be outside without being swarmed by fucking mosquitos.
I just found out I have webwork to do tomorrow. The first entry for the Tour Journal came to me by way of Barry Andrews. His assistant/roadie/pal has written the first installment. The dude's name is Jon Holmes. Why do I find it oddly appropriate that Barry will be traveling with a gentleman whose name is famous in the porn industry? I wonder if he knows. heheheheheh....
Just finished watching 'The Ring' again, like an idiot. It's like, when I'm finally able to go to the latrine in the middle of the night without being spooked just a little, I'm compelled to watch this movie and start the creepiness all over again. This time, I tricked Aunt Tudi into watching the end. HA! Misery loves company.

Date: 2003-06-29 11:54 am (UTC)2. Sounds wonderful, inspiring and relaxing, I'd love to be there.
3. OK, give, it's already lunchtime where you are!!! (Easy to be impatient when it's evening here.)
4. Is that the American version? I recently saw the Japanese one on Scifi channel, but I was online and my attention wandered. Or more accurately, it didn't seem to require close attention till the end, and I didn't refocus. Subtitles may be best, but they're a pain when you're doing two things at once. Gosh, how long has it been since anything really spooked me (even living alone)?

Date: 2003-06-29 12:16 pm (UTC)2. I loved it. We're planning on going back in a month with lots of duck and goose food.
3. I'm working on it now! I've decided to make a distinct journal page with a button and everything. Ain't it special?
4. It was the American version, but 'Ringu' is actually creepier. Sadako really freaks me out.
