Adventures in K&D Land, and other tales...
Jul. 9th, 2003 12:52 pmLlew and I went to visit K&D last night. They had asked Llew to come and help them with their computer. We hung out for about 2 hours whilst Llew struggled with the aged box to no avail. T was also there and he and K expressed great affection as I watched D watch Llew. We chit-chatted about this, that, and the other. K asked about my collar and I tried my best to explain, but I don't think I got it across perhaps as I should have or could have! That was frustrating.
Llew was a zombie. After having worked 15 hours the previous day, with only 2 hours sleep, it's a wonder he could do anything with the computer.
K said they're planning on a brouhaha for Lughnassadh, with a Caribbean theme. I can't quite wrap my mind around a Caribbean Feast of Lugh but, if it fries their onions...so mote it be. Of course, Llew and I are invited so we'll show up without a doubt. I may have a more traditional observance at some other time.
I am not sleeping at all well now. I just ache all night and can't quite make it to REM. My back is getting worse and I woke myself up moaning last night. Damn! Dr. Yost is going to be getting an earful on the 24th.
So I've worked the 30 minutes I'm allotted and now have 30 minutes to call my own. No time really to go get lunch, and no money to buy any, so here I sit being all bitchy on LJ. This job is driving me crazy. I can feel it. It's probably a good thing I don't know how to use a gun, 'cos I would be a true menace if I did. At least I'm sane enough to admit my proclivity for systematic eradication of morons, idiots, and Feudal Masters. Perhaps that's my wee bit of sanity maintaining.
Llew's daughter asked if I had a spare White Stripes CD. As a matter of fact, I did and will be giving that to her and Billy today. I think the White Stripes simultaneously suck rocks and blow chunks, but Mel and Billy dig 'em so they're welcome to the CD. Foo....
As it stands right now, I shall be working beyond my 5 PM clock-out. When I go home, I shall have to mow the grass. The temperature right now is 84 degrees with 66% humidity. By this afternoon, it should be 92 degrees with the same amount of humidity, if not a little higher. The biggest fear this time around is not have a coronary and falling dead in dog poop; rather, it is being steamed to death before I can finish the lawn. I'm assuming that the heat will keep me relatively warm to where my corpse will still attract the mosquitos, which will suck all the blood out of my body, leaving a flat blob of flesh in the front yard. What a pleasant thought.
Well, that's it, I guess. Almost time to put the yoke back on.
BOOM-boom BOOM-boom
Row ya bastards!~

Date: 2003-07-09 04:01 pm (UTC)I've said it before and I'll say it again. Nuke the garden. Grass is definitely **not** worth the aggro.
