I'm at work, yay!
And I'm not doing a damned thing, yay!
I'm high as a kite, yay!
Llew took me to see his chiro today. Fine gentlemen he is. I thought his name was Dr. Hoek, but it is actually Dr. Hogue. I had some really interesting imaginings of having an asthma-hound chihuahua coming at me saying, "I'm goeeeng to crrrack yer bones, you eeediot! Now be still or I'm gonna hitcha, and you're gonna fall...and I'm gonna look down..and I'm gonna laaaaaaaffff."
Fortunately, that didn't happen, although it would have been damned funny.
Dr. Hogue creeped me out by describing my work station to a tee. He seems to think that what I do is affecting my neck and upper back. Well, Dr. Yost seems to think the same thing. Gee... you mean over-work, stress, and poor ergonomics may be contributing to my slow transformation into Quasimodo? Who would have thought? Oh, the scandal! Oh, the shame! Surely this heresy must be the workings of communist operatives...
Oddly enough, Judy has already had to have a cortizone injection for essentially the same symptoms, although hers was a bit worse since it developed into a herniated disc. Oh, and Joanie is having problems with her right shoulder now too. Pretty soon, we'll all have to change our names to Igor and go lurching about the office in gunney sacks.
Anyways, I took my muscle relaxer before going to Ye Olde Chiropractor 'cos I'm a big coward and I was afraid I'd tense up at the wrong time and he'd break off my head.
He actually has made me feel some better, enough to where I decided to come on to work, but I'm still high from the muscle relaxer and am doing diddly here in the Pit. Whee!
I've been here since about 12:15 and am now getting a little achey, so I wish 5 would get here quickly. I think I need a lie down...
At least I'm getting things a little organised for Monday and I've seen just how far behind I am on the Friends' section of LJ. How daunting.
Llew is coming over for a visit this afternoon. Things are going better between us. Hope is an actual word in my personal lexicon.
Oh, I heard from Barry. I forwarded him my Wombat story. His response: "A deeply moral and sobering fable indeed..."
WOOT!
OK, back to work or a fair facsimile thereof.

Date: 2003-07-27 02:27 pm (UTC)Anyways, all I was saying in a nutshell was that I'm very glad you got to see B perform and that you got to meet him. He's a cool dude isn't he? Having never met him in person myself, I find encounter stories like yours to be heartening and fulfilling and a wholly vicarious manner. Thank you so much for sharing!
If he ever comes back to the states, I hope you get to see him again.
Also, do you mind if I send him a link to your entry? I'm sure he'd love to read it.
Peace
