Late

What really gets my goat is, if you're late for an appointment, you're penalised by having to wait even longer as others are taken ahead of you, or told that you'll have to reschedule (mind you, I'm never late for an appointment, any appointment, because I'm the Virgo from Hell; however, I have seen this done to other unfortunate Tardies) but the "professional" with whom you have the appointment is invariably 15 to 30 minutes late calling you back, which just throws your schedule completely out of whack.

Usually, I just nurse my surliness in silence and wait my turn, but not today. After 30 minutes of waiting for the nutritionist, knowing I still had to go get mouse traps and deposit fundage an Ye Olde Bank, I decided to take back the control in my life. I threw up my mental hands, thought "fuck it!" as loud as my mind could scream it, and walked out of the medical building. Screw waiting half an hour after my appointment.

I'm thinking that, if more people started doing this, punishing these people for doing the exact same thing for which they tend to punish their clients, we'd see a swift rehaul of the system to where a 10 o'clock appointment means a 10 o'clock appointment and not an 11 o'clock appointment.

So, yeah, I didn't see the nutritionist today. I don't think UHC requires this, though, so I'm not gonna worry about it until after the first of the year. I canno' be bothered.

after THREE different appointment changes in as many days from our local health dept, I feel ya.
