An All-Time Low and Random Hooha
Jan. 4th, 2004 01:29 amI came to work in my pajamas tonight. Yep, I just put some pants on over my sleep shorts and threw a jacket over my night-shirt and came on in. After Laura left, off came the jacket and the sweat pants and BADABOOM BADABING: Comfy Tin!
So, yeah, I may have to do this more often, even though I feel as though I've sunk to the depths jouncing about in the middle of the night in my jammies whilst dispatching ambulance calls and telling drunks to bugger off.
Outkast is on SNL tonight. I swear to god that new song of theirs ("The Way You Move" I think?) sounds like something straight off an Earth, Wind, & Fire record.
Llew was supposed to come over today, but didn't. I didn't hear from him either. Oddly, since I'm in full PMS mode, I should be all upset and feeling neglected, but I'm not. It's like, "well whoop-tee-damn-doo!" I've just shrugged it off and figure he'll let me know what's going on later. De nada, de nada, de nada.
The PMS is affecting me in that I have very little patience, mainly with Aunt Tudi. I'm trying to keep it under wraps, but I really just want to haul off and bitch slap her if she talks to me. Of course, I never would, but that urge is there and I feel badly about it. She's such a sweet woman and doesn't deserve to be exposed to my wretched moon moods. I've caught myself being a little snippy with her, but that is so far the extent of it. One thing that really ticked me off today was this:
Stephanie brought the girls and came for a visit in order to give me some protein powder she had gotten but didn't like. We were in the living room chatting and Aunt Tudi was lying down in the adjacent room. Then Todd called and, even though Aunt Tudi knew I was playing hostess, here she comes with the phone. Needless to say, before I thought, I gave her the hairy eyeball, then asked Todd if I could call him right back. Now usually things like this don't bother me, but this was about 7 hours ago and it's still needling at me.
Yeah, I think it's time to don my Devil Girl Choco-Bar tee shirt. I wear it as a warning to the unwashed masses. Don't cross Tin or she may be forced to break her foot off in your ass. Now give her chocolate and back away slowly, byatch!
Very rarely do I look forward to Monday, but I just can't wait for Monday to get here. I'm hoping I get a call from Debbie early in the morning and that she can just fax all the pertinent materials to UHC instead of having to mail them. All I have is a mailing address for the Claims Department and that do sucketh with a great and mighty force.
This leather chair is doing a number on my bare legs now. I may have to put my pants in the seat so keep the leather and skin separated. This is no fun. What I'd really like to have is a La-Z-Boy recliner. If I had that, all these calls could just friggin' wait whilst I caught up on my z's in style. That's probably why there are no recliners here at Telehell. Goddess forbid that we get *too* comfortable.
Hm...the more I think about, the more curious I am about why Llew didn't come over and didn't call. I'd like to say that's not like him but, lately, that's a lot like him. He has so much on his plate, it's a wonder he has the mind enough to function to meet his responsibilities, but it would still have been nice for him to call and tell me he couldn't come visit. I'm not angry or hurt, just perplexed.
Less than six hours to go. Will I make it or will Carol Ann come in at 7 to find my dead bloated body lumped up in the corner?
The previews before LOTR: ROTK included the new Harry Potter movie. I can't wait to see this movie and I have no qualms about knocking youngsters out of my way to get to the box office for my ticket. Steph, I believe, feels the same way. We're gonna be roughing up kids in order to get to this flick ASAP. Would that make us Harry Hooligans?
Speaking of movies, I sincerely believe that the last three years have seen some of the best movie-making in the history of cinema. I'm just in awe of the originality and vastness of so many of the movies offered up for our viewing pleasure. Cinematic wonders are probably the only reason I wouldn't want to witness the End of All Things. In fact, I keep hoping to myself, "please just let me see this movie before Dubya blows up Earth." My current list of "must-see-before-Armadeddon" films are:
If I get my wish in seeing all these movies, perhaps Dubya will have since been voted out of office (yeah, right....like he was ever voted in in the first place) and the world will once again be a safe and sane place wherein folks like Peter Jackson can make more lovely films. Hurrah for moving pictures!
Bored..I'm bored bored bored! I need to sleep sleep sleep.
But no no no!
This is getting silly as hell. I'm going to stop typing now.
Avada Kevadra.

Date: 2004-01-04 05:55 am (UTC)Right!? Whenever I hear it, I can close my eyes and see a synchronized horn section, grooving a la EWF.

Date: 2004-01-04 10:48 am (UTC)So Chronicles of Riddick is for real! Don't wanna break this off now to install QuickTime so I can view the trailer I just found, but I will be doing just that. Has he become grist for the rumour mill for all his project ideas, or is he still developing Hannibal, and does he really want to play the Marlon Brando part in Guys and Dolls? The more I read about him, the more genuinely cool he seems in person.
Big Fish does look very interesting. SWIII -- well, a must for completeness, SWII has put me so far off the franchise, I barely even care. A shame, after all the love I've lavished on it (or, on its Darths) over the years.

Date: 2004-01-04 05:22 pm (UTC)As for Vin, I haven't followed his career of late, so I don't know where Hannibal stands now. If I hear, I'll let you know. You do the same, eh?
