On the other hand, I might see the movie. If nothing else, its a helluva tale about martyrdom and human dignity. I am reminded of the Babylon 5 episode with the mindwiped ex-murderer turned monk. The new personality/monk wondered if he would have had the courage to wait for his executioners as jesus had, thinking that moment in the garden the most poignant. Later, he sits and waits for the men and women that have hunted him down to punish him for the murders he'd committed prior to his "death of personality" brainwipe, showing that he did indeed have the courage.
This, of course, spun me off into considering how the story of this one man retold in thousands of books really outlines the best in humankind more than "a savior" per se.
That's just me. There are always those that inisist on believing it refers to some kind of devine savior that's better than any human could possibly be. I figure those folk are just too lazy to try.
