And the Night Rages on
Feb. 21st, 2004 01:29 amTonight is a Telehell night.
I'm bored, sleepy, and thoroughly unwilling to answer these damned phones.
Word has been spreading at work about my pending surgery. I've had several persons approach me to ask if I am excited or frightened. Honestly, I am neither; rather, I am relieved. Also, I'm now able to turn my mind to ther matters, like gathering supplies and planning my short-term disability. I got some good news about the short term disability payments. My 401k loan won't be taken out of these checks so, essentially, I'll be bringing in more money during my medical leave than I do when I'm at work, even though I only draw 70% of my salary on short term disability. That, combined with my ability to file insurance with a couple of my other debts, will allow me to create quite a little nest egg from end-March through April. Yet another reason to feel relief.
Llew called me earlier today to inform me of his doctor's appointment on Monday. Hopefully, this is his first step in the direction of reclaiming his life and our relationship. I hope it works. Just his willingness to return to the doctor indicates to me that he doesn't just want to throw us away. He told me last night that he knows he doesn't deserve me, but that doesn't stop him from wanting me. Yeah, it makes me feel good, but I can't imagine myself being in the position of someone whom another feels they don't deserve. It's just a bit too much ego-stroking for me.
I rented four movies for the weekend.
I just finished The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer. There was a nice little bondage scene in the movie that tweaked my senses somewhat. Other than that, the movie pretty much sucked eggs. Now it's time for Donnie Darko. If this movie scares me to death, I shall be haunting Todd and
crimsonblossom. They will think it's Don King pressing his face against their respective windows but, NAY, it shall be me with the scary white erect 'do of fright.
For dinner earlier, I went and got Aunt Tudi and I a chicken dinner each. She had an atrocious migraine all day and I had to crash for a nap before coming to work, so neither of us were up for cooking. During my meal, my spork broke. Surely this is a bad omen.
Tilda Swinton fascinates me.
I've decided that I'm doing absolutely nothing this weekend. I'm going nowhere but to work and back and, when I'm at home, I'm going to vegetate so much that people will debate on whether or not to turn off my life support. There will be picketers on my front lawn. It will be dramatic and newsworthy.
OK, the movie trailers are finished and Donnie Darko just began so I'm signing off for now. Before I go, I want to immortalise three more quizzes in El Journale.
This one I got from the lovely and wise
ealdthryth
The Yankee-Dixie Quiz
I scored: 52% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.
That's a hoot, since I've never lived anywhere else except NC and SC. Then again, half my family are New York Yankees (people, not the baseball team).
OOOOOoooo! Maggie Gyllanhaal is in this movie! I had no idea. Now, I have the urge to see The Secretary again. heh.
Alrighty, this one I ganked from fascinatingly intelligent
bluestocking7.

YOU'RE GRUMPY!

81% (Dixie). Did you have any Confederate ancestors?
This is distressing. And yes, I did.
