Festivity

We met with G & N for dinner at Applebees last night. They're very cool and we all had a really good time, so a friendship will perhaps be forged from it.

Of course, making new friends and having a relaxed and festive time was all Llew could have hoped for on his birthday.

Aunt Tudi and I gave Llew his gifties before he and I ventured on to G'ville for dinner. She'd gotten him a David Bromberg CD and I gave him the mirror pendant and a Ladysmith Black Mambazo CD. He was thrilled.

We listened to LBM on the way to Applebees. The mood was sweet and dreamy until I hit a bird that flew in front of the car. It went *splat* on the windshield and sufficiently horrified me. I still feel bad about it.

After dinner, G & N and we said our goodbyes with the tentative promise of meeting again after I've convalesced a little from the surgery. Mid-April is our target time. We came home, curled up, and slept contentedly, until the blasted alarm clock forced us to rise for another work day.

Hitting a bird is such a shocking thing - I hope it wasn't a big one.

No, it was a teeny sparrow-like bird...just a couple of ounces at most. It was still horrifying though.
