Surreal

I've been in a phantasmagorical headspace all day long. Instead of going home and going to bed, I picked up Aunt Tudi and we went straight to Wally World for supplies. I didn't get home until right before 11 a.m. By then, I'd been up 28 hours with about three non-consecutive hours of sleep. I passed out the minute my head hit the pillow. At 3:30 I woke up sick as can be. Exhaustion nauseates me, so I've been ill all day and have felt like I've been wandering about in world that doesn't quite exist. It's going on 1:30 a.m. and I still feel that way.

The reality of Monday hasn't quite set in yet either. It all just seems so far away and completely separate from my actual life. Everything is thoroughly unreal to me.

On the way to work, they played "Things can only Get Better" by Howard Johnson on the radio. I always loved that song and, when it first came out, completely believed its message. Those were better days. Now, I'm being told by lots of people that things can only get better for me now and I want to believe them, but my cynical nature, created by an overabundance of personal failures and disappointments beyond my control, prevents my succumbing to the rampant optimism invading my personal space.

I'm too tired and sick to write lucidly here for now. Instead, I'll post some quizzes and get back to Along Came a Spider 'cos, as Bobby Brown said, that's my prerogative.
