I had to leave work and take Smidgen to the vet's office. We think she swallowed a piece of broom straw! As soon as Dr. Patch checks her out and makes sure no foreign object will be harpooning its way through Smidgen's vital organs, I can go pick her back up.

To add to the stress, I got a letter from someone at RCA/J telling me that the distribution lists that Tasha Yar and I have toiled to get into our system are actually obsolete (RCA's fault) and that I will have to re-enter all those hundreds of names all over again. I don't think so! I wrote her back and told her that would not be possible, but we could work off the Excel files they send to us each time they want to do a mailing for these lists. That way, they can update them themselves (which is what they are supposed to be doing anyway), and I won't be stuck here til the wee hours every day suffering double vision and numb fingers from looking at and typing an endless list of names and addresses.

I've been sick all morning, but it's fading now, so I'm grateful. Our department is supposed to have lunch at El Mexicano to send Shannon on her way since today is her last day. I'm planning on a chili relleno and hoping I don't make a spectacle of myself.

I''ve been known to do fairly well with Mexican. (though I'm not sure I would chance a chili relleno - I've been eating the insides out of soft tacos.)

I do really well with the chili relleno since it's nothing but finely ground beef and cheese with a piece of bell pepper. Then again, I've not been doing the best in the world with even water, so I may be opening myself up to a world of ache.
