Pooped already
Oct. 16th, 2004 04:03 pmI got up at 8 a.m., made breakfast and a mean pot of coffee, spent some time with Llew and watched a wee bit of Escape to Witch Mountain before taking Aunt Tudi to get her flu shot. We got there and she received the shot in record time, which came as quite a surprise. It was 11:50 when we left the hospital and her appointment was at 12 PM, so that was bloody impressive! On our way through Spartanburg, we had to take a detour because of a road being closed for, at that time, an unknown event. When we passed the park, we saw that the event was actually the International Fair. I found a parking spot and we walked down to the park to see what was going on. We caught some Irish step-dancing done by a juvenile dance troup, and eyeballed the various tents, each representing a different country. All in all, it was pretty groovy.
After about an hour, we headed home, stopping at Jack's to get Aunt Tudi a new chicken cordon bleu sandwich. Then, finally, it was home.
We have to go to a birthday party for Johnna's middle child, Colby, tonight. He's a little fiend, but it'll be good to hang out with Johnna for a little while, so I'm not really dreading it like perhaps I should. I'm not the type to easily endure events that involve children, especially unruly kids from hell. I'll probably come home with a headache, but that's okay. I'll just take me some drugs and pass out early. I feel like I could pass out right now.
Tomorrow, we're going to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
And I have entered my Moontime a week early....
No rest for the Wiccan.
