Getting Warm, Lead Barry, etc etc etc
Dec. 20th, 2004 07:11 pmIt's been unforgiveably cold today. This morning, the temperature was 15 with a windchill of 4. Uh.....no! My feet never got warm the entire day. In fact, as the hours drug on at work, my feet began to sweat and get colder. By the time I got home, I had squishy feet. Why oh why do my feet sweat only in the Winter? Most people can seemingly wear big fuzzy slippers and keep nice toasty feet. I put on shoes like that and they leak profusely whilst absorbing all the cold in the world. Gads...how uncomfortable. Now, though, I have on my gown, my pajamas, and a pair of hunter socks. My feet are drying out and warming up. Life is good.
Earlier today, I did a search on LJ for Shriekback fans and came across
bustercar, who had posted about purchasing a set of lead figurines of XTC from the "White Music" era. To my delight, this was the time during which Barry was a member of the band. Some crafty soul has made a lead figurine of Barry Andrews! Only 200 sets are being made and oooohhhh, what I wouldn't give to have a set, just to be in possession of a Barry action figure. Interested parties may access the set here. A close up of Barry is behind the cut.

There's no doubt that I'll be letting Barry know about this. I think he'll get a real kick out of it, if he isn't already aware of it.
I'm taking the camera back to Wally World. It sucks battery power like a vampire on a rampage. My last camera didn't do this. In my humble opinion, batteries should last longer than 4 pictures and a brief upload. Back it goes. I'll just have to wait on a decent camera.
Todd sent me Spiderman2 for Christmahanakwanzayule and this, of course, made me very happy and almost lusty (thanks to beholding the glory that is Doc Ock). I think I shall watch it again before I retire, nestled in several blankets with a Yorkie and a crazy cat.
