Crime Scene Investigator sounds good -- I really enjoy the investigative side of my job.
My mother (who could have become an artist or illustrator, but didn't) thinks you could do that, if you wanted to get into that highly competitive world.
But most seriously, study anything in the medical field and you can leave the US if you decide you really want to, permanently or on an extended visit. They want people so badly over here, I would imagine you could bring Tudi with very little trouble. Nurses, speech therapists, probably all the others like radiographer, physiotherapist, etc. (Don't do doctor, that's way too hard and too long.) And I seem to remember it was lots of points in Canada, too.
I'm for either Paralegal or Respiratory Therapist, but that's just me. I recently changed my major from Physical Therapy to Nursing. The JC I'm going to, Golden West College, has a 2yr nursing program and it's $26/unit. It sure as hell beats Cal State Long Beach which would take about 8yrs to get my BS in Bio and Masters in PT. Plus I hear its about $200/unit. Yikes!
So basically, my advice is to go into something with a quick program and cheap tuition, which will provide a stable career and, of course, BANK$$$! Oh yeah, and choose something that won't make you want to firmly harness a noose around your neck.
Sarah ~ yay!!! Thanks for your input. I'm leaning more toward respiratory therapy now 'cos I just got a promised reference from a doctor in the event I take that route. I think you'll make a great nurse, and I'm quite proud of you for taking charge of your life the way you have. I can't wait to do what you've done and leave the music biz. This place is sucking out my will to live. Stay in touch, dig?
