There are some very dramatic clouds hovering in the sky at the mo. Perfect weather for the new music I recently acquired on the downlow. Oo. And the wind is picking up. It's supposed to be windier than Smidgen's boo-tay tonight....but not nearly as odiferous.

Work has petered out. I've finished the "Win It Before You Can Buy It" projects for Kenny Chesney and Blaine Larsen. I've also gotten all the Country prepacks out to the POP warehouse. All that's left is the Tracy Byrd "Win-Its," but I can't do those until closer to time. Arrival time for those is 2/3, so I'm sittin here just looking at the paperwork and Willing an earlier date so I can get the shite off my desk.

Let's see what's in the New Release catalog for February 22.

  • The Chieftains "Live from Dublin" (how many Live from Dublin albums are these geezers gonna make?)

  • Some Clannad reissues ~ "Anam" "Banba" "Lore" and "Landmarks" (I gots to get me some of that)

  • Kings of Leon "Aha Shake Heartbreak" (I've done a lot of promo projects for this one...it might be worth checking out)

  • Morrissey "Who Put the 'M' in Manchester?" (Ah, Morrissey. The lad is showing his age)

  • George Thorogood and the Destroyers "Then and Now" (oh hell yeah!)

  • Kathy Troccoli "Draw Me Close" (pretty decent contemporary Christian singer)

  • Various "Best of Trance Volume 5" (I wonder if B would want a copy of this?)

  • Widespread Panic "Live at Myrtle Beach" (I just can't see WP in South Carolina....)

Meh.
A pretty thin catalog and the logo on the front is still just BMG with that ugly red triangle. I wonder when it will change over to the new Sony/BMG sigil...and yes, it is a sigil because the new regime is an evil empire. Then again, the music business is, as a rule, a Great Evil. Sauron is behind it, I know. He saw all the circular items being made and how they affected people when played on their obviously infernal machines, and deemed them to be rings to rule us all, thus taking over the operation and bending society to his wicked Will ever since.

Jeez, I just got 5 phone calls and 4 emails in the course of about 7 minutes. Now, I have more work.

I know you're BMG but...

Have you heard the Warner Bros "What is Hip?" compilation? They let DJ's and producers loose in the WB vaults and came up with some primo remix shit. Check it out...what they've done to "Whip It" by Devo is worth the admission price :D

Ooo, that sounds fabulicious!
And, actually, I'm not BMG anymore. Distribution got sold to another Bertelsmann devision called Arvato (yes, it is also an African plague, much like Ebola). I'm in the skids on the outside of the biz looking in. bleh.

Arvato? I was going to guess "natural male enhancement" but plague is better!
