Shamelessly robbed from [livejournal.com profile] blueskywonder and [livejournal.com profile] shrijani

  1. Auditions ("I'm going to drop you as a friend unless you comment right now.") ~~ No. I usually drop people who don't post in their own journals for an ungodly amount of time. I feel that deleting someone 'cos they don't comment in your journal is just a wee bit self-centred and needy. But that's just me.

  2. Bad grammar/spelling (either accidentally or via l33tsp3@k) ~~ I try to be as grammatically correct as possible and I don't know from this l33t crap, although I have been known to use "w00t" which I think falls into that category.

  3. Constant PayPal/eBay whoring ("If only someone were to make a donation!") ~~ I did this for the first time last night because my veterinarian owns my arse.

  4. Cryptic posts ("Oh, my, who knew that would happen?") ~~ This one pisses me off more than I can say. I unfriended someone because that's basically all she ever did was make cryptic posts. I try not to do this, although I have a wee handful of times in the past, thus pissing myself off at myself.

  5. Eeyoring ("Today I will post the seventieth entry in Why My Life Sucks...") ~~ I think I kinda do this, but more in the form of bitching than moaning; however, I have a very clear disclaimer in my user info that I tend to bitch a lot, so it's not like I didn't warn people.

  6. Long, uncut posts/images. ~~ I've been known not to cut on long posts before, but I always cut for images.

  7. Repeated deletions/goodbyes ~~ Never have I done this. Don't intend to. My journal has been relatively drama-free since I've been here and I hope to keep it that way.

  8. Quiz overload/Significant other lust ~~ I try to save up all my quizzes and post them all at once on Friday mornings so as not to clutter up people's friends pages. I also use the handy-dandy LJ cut for this. Ain't I polite? As far as SO lust, I can't say that I do that, no.

  9. Song lyric posts (especially those not LJ-cut) ~~ Mea Culpa on very few occasions, but I usually use a cut.

  10. Totalitarianism ("If you disagree with me in any way, you are a troll.") ~~ Nah, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Only if you personally attack me will I screen your comments but, so far, most of the folks I've encountered here are too intelligent to engage in such immature behaviour.

  11. Updating once a month or less ::falls over in fits of laughter:: BAAAAAHAHAHAH!! Yeah....right.....

yeh i agree ;-)
this List, by the way, is pretty good. and for some reason, i'm not bothered at all by people posting song lyrics without a cut.

Well, I'm not sure where I stand on this. These journals are for self expression, and as we know, in any normal case that must somehow depend on your self. So if you're a dictator, a mopey-ass, a lyrics-enthusiast, or an impatient bastard who needs recognistion from others to feel that they exist, it is going to reflect that as a rule. There is no need to set up anoter deadly sin list (the one with seven entries is stupid enough as it is), unless you want David Fincher to make 'Elev11n', in which Brad Pitt is going after dirty bloggers, or maybe the Book of the Holy Journal to be written. If you don't like someone's shit, just leave and find new people, or do something else.

Amen sista!

...but it was still fun to think on. Besides, these are probably the top 11 complaints by journalers about other journalers. Me? I don't care...except for the cryptic post thing. I mean, if you're going to have a public journal, why make everything so fucking mysterious? TO GET ATTENTION. I don't buy it.

Well, if I do a cryptic post, it is because I'm a very private person forced into writing a fucking public journal! Yeah, you twisted my arm, beyotch. ;-) Seriously, I think you're right in 99% of all cases about that.

There is a function that allows a person to make a post friends only or private even. The person I unfriended either didn't know about it (not bloody likely) or was keen on being publically aloof because they're an attention whore. You're hardly that, so I'm not bothered by anything you do. You're my Sithster in crime...and punishment.

Yep, especially in punishment *cackle* ;-)
I keep forgetting about that bloody function! It's senility setting in early.

Yeah, as far as I'm concerned the worst internet crime (well, next to flaming and being generally obnoxious) is to make up stupid elite rules not to do things, for no good reason. (THIS IS HARDLY GOING TO HURT YOUR DAMN EARS, IS IT???? Sorry, I do abide by good table manners and will henceforth continue to do the same here, but I rail at the arbitrariness and elitism.)

I wish I had time not to commit no.11, I've certainly got enough to say. But then, I spend all my time commenting here! (Yes, I do have a life.) And as I'm becoming more private in my old age, my default setting is for quite a limited audience.

(Speaking of which, thanks, tl, I just got back into town/online and will look into this soon.)

I'm just so glad to have bumped into you again.:) And I understand exactly what you mean about becoming private, and spending all your time commenting on others' journals.

Meh...I think all can be forgiven if one or two other sins aren't commited.

Thou shalt not yell at people who comment to you about how you took up half their friends page with crap in an uncut post. Or who asks you what the Hell you are talking about when you make a cryptic post.

Thou shalt not be a boring prig who makes people wonder why you bother to have a journal.
