I ran out of medicine for me and the doctor's nurse called to tell me that she'd called it in for me this morning around 9:30. I figured by lunchtime, it'd be filled. No, there was no record of a medicine being called in, the girl told me; however, they hadn't checked their messages either. I asked if I could call back in five minutes, after they checked the messages, to confirm I could come on to pick up the medicine ('cos I really didn't want to have to go anywhere but home after work, being womanly and all). She said sure. I gave 'em 10 minutes as I dithered about downtown Duncan. When I called back, the girl said, "Sorry, they haven't checked the messages yet," and she laughed. She fucking laughed. Exasperated, I told her I'd be by after work and she apologised. Too little too late, you piss ant from hell.

Eckerd used to be really good about prescriptions and everything else. I'm seriously considering Walgreens now. Aren't they based in a town called Perfect?

Bleh.

As much as I hate everything else about KMart (or at least the KMart most convenient to me), their pharmacy has been pretty good. Do you have one near you?

Not anymore. Wal-mart ran them out of town on a rail.

there's still one in Grr, but I don't know if they have a pharmacy...I get everything at CVS next to the soon to be gone Winn Dixie (those are all closing Sept. 1st)

Don't ever get anything filled at Walmart...you will be there for two hours.

I like Walgreens. Eckerd's used to be known for a high level of customer service but I think the labor pool for clerk jobs has been watered down :p CVS bought all the Eckerds down here but the staff are still pretty ignorant.

Hope you get your meds with no further hassle.

I went to Eckerd from CVS after I cussed every last motherfucker there out. Long story...but it had to do with sitting on fissure for two hours whilst those morons behind the counter dicked around. Don't get me started.

If CVS bought out Eckerd, that could explain my increased rage level when dealing with them.

It sucks...I always like to ask these idiots "Is this the way you'd like to be treated when you come to my counter? Because I'll happily treat you like shit, if that's what you want."

:shakes a fist:

Come to Walgreens. I work there, and you will be adding to the financial support of me :)

In defense of the pharmacy, for just a moment, things sometimes get hairy. When the phone starts ringing, and people start walking in like mad, and there's only one pharmacist (who is the only person who can take messages from the doctors offices, by the way), it can be difficult to hop on something immediately. Ours is the busiest pharmacy in Bay County, but is also the highest-rated, per a recent newspaper poll. We sometimes don't get to check the messages right away, but it is our policy to check them at least once every hour, if not more often.

However, Walgreens is clearly superior to Eckerd, which, I believe, has been purchased by CVS (which, let me also add, I have heard that one should avoid...it's a truly bad pharmacy).

Being a former victim of CVS, I can honestly say that it's the worst pharmacy on the face of the planet.

My company makes pharmacy software. Don't go to Walgreens, they are they industry leader with their Walgreens proprietary software *Whine* They are the evil one. If you go to Target, Kmart, Walmart, Kroger, Publix, Happy Harry's, BI-Lo ... you'll be supporting me as they use the version of our software to which I am working on the upgrade! Isn't that exciting? lol, just kidding, Walgreens is the industry leader because their software is apparently the best, so I imagine that would translate into a good customer experience (give or take a few assholes at the counter).

BTW - when you go into Walmart and you hear music playing over the speakers ... my friend wrote the program that does that (disclaimer: He had absolutely NO say in what music they choose to play so don't even TRY to blame me/him for that).
