V, Riddick, and Irritable Innards
Dec. 21st, 2003 12:24 amWell, I'm back at work. It's a lot slower tonight than it was last night. Too many people called last night, interrupting my quality time here at work. Right now I'm watching the original miniseries, V. When I first saw this back in the 80's, I was moved by the comparisons between the Visitors' and the Nazis and how quickly reality can change with the right amount of pressure, fear tactics, and propaganda. I really think that V should be mandatory viewing for all Americans at this time in our history. Gee, don'tcha think Diana looks an awful lot like Laura Bush? <---sarcasm
I got an incredible e-mail from Steph today about the sequel to Pitch Black. Supposedly, it's entitled Riddick and is set 5 years after the events of Pitch Black. Oh, hell yeah! Nothing goes better with a hefty helping of Science Fiction than big ole side order of Eye Candy. Riddick always put me in mind of Darth Maul in his demeanor and physical grace. This is, of course, based upon the Maul developed at the Darth Maul Estrogen Brigade from the rudimentary character George Lucas so woefully neglected. I think Ray Park was perfect as Darth Maul physically, but Vin Diesel would have been a fine candidate as well, especially since he has a Sith voice and poor squeaky Ray does not.
I have been nauseated all day long. Just really sickly and puny. I swear I think that my body is successfully fighting off the flu, but is still having some reaction to the virus because I've felt horrid all week. My insides feel like someone has been using an eggbeater on them. ew.
